Game Discussions Bethesda Softworks Starfield Space RPG

btw, a five day early access is not going to get me to jump. If it was a month or so and was basically a final integrity test on hundreds or thousands of a wide variety of computers, I'd be interested. I did early access on ED and AW way back before 1st beta. The price is not a problem for me but the duration is not worth it.
Probably you should have some principles. Like, never pre-order, or do not buy platform because of its exclusives etc.

I got to add my 2 cents to this hot topic.

Looks good in the videos. If I understand what I've read and seen so far:
  • you can walk around your ship's interior and interact with crew while flying to a destination or relaxing in orbit (and romance is available)
  • I can fly to and land on any planet and explore the entire surface, not just the cities (~1000 planets iirc)
  • I can avoid most combat situations (but not all) to focus time on exploring and making money
  • Early access is only 5 days and cost $99 USD and starts Sept. 1; regular release is Sept. 6 ($70 usd) atm

please correct or comment on the above since I am old and have really bad eyesight (atm)

I had to get in on this to keep SC Discussion thread V12 from taking top spot again (???)

From the Gamepass descrition of the premium edition:

Install size 10.12MB?

Arduino installation confirmed!
Just a digital place marker since the actual content will all be in the main game download whenever that is, with Gamepass new releases, it's usually available for pre-loading a day or so before the release date, in this case September 1st...I clicked on the big green install button because it was there...sometimes a worrying trait

Seem there are some extra items as well for a pre-order:

Pre-order now and receive “Old Mars Skin Pack” in-game bonus items: Laser Cutter, Deep Mining Helmet and Deep Mining Pack
I would hold off pre-orders until release date falls in to refund window. With Early access launching few days early, one can get a good view of game performance befor official game launch, so you will have an option to avoid ruining your first gaming experience, befor they fix it, should it needs fixing.

Meh, I've been a star citizen dumpster fire backer since 2015...what do I care about a few measly Bethesda day one release bugs? If I get as far as the character creation screen without the game vomiting me back to desktop... or heavens forbid... actually get into a ship without it exploding, it's a bonus

Well imagine playing this stunning Space Adventure game, with 20 FPS. Forcing your self to downgrade detail level just to play it. It ain't going to be very fun for sure.
And it's not just because Bethesda has a track record of terrible launches, or that they delayed the game for almost a year, which clearly shows they already struck massive problems.
Its just there are a lot of game released this year that to everyone surprise had suffered first few weeks of game performance issues, until developers tuckled the problem. They will fix it eventually should there be any launch issue, but that first time experience would be ruined for sure.

A first experience is exactly that and one I'm certain to endure and survive should it be less than spectacular...With Starfield, I'm sure I'll have many other experiences over many years...same as I've done with every 'buggy' Bethesda game release since Daggerfall 🤷‍♂️

I think I will be ok having experienced Morrowind onwards from Bethseda. Also as MoleHD said Star Citizen prepares you for anything and I was a 2012 backer.

Elite is MMO, just without "traditional" (read WoW) vision. BGS existence makes it MMO, just different then everybody got used to.
But that's the thing, BGS or power play if you aren't into that is just ?? It doesn't really do much to effect the individuals game . And in all honesty could be just be NPC action for most people. So take away BGS and power play or even PMF it doesn't affect Elite as a game . But again these are my musings.
And just to add I've pre-ordered SF ( my first preorder ever ( I tend to wait til it goes on sale ) but at least I can play it on console and expect many fixes and improvements ., ☺️

You'll be able to add some of the best player created Starfield mods as well...Bethesda opened the door for modding their console games with Fallout 4 on the Xbox :)

I preordered the physical upgrade because i want the steelbook and don't want the watch. That's freakin insane how much they want for a flea market smart watch.

Also got some other souveniers..

And just imagine how many interesting expansion packs they could have added to ED in some of those already locked areas that we can't explore.

After all these years the best we can do is .1 atmospheric pressure and a different variety of plants. Considering the fact that they have Jurassic world and planet zoo under their belt they could have very easily put some kind of crawly things all over the place on certain planets.

Even gas giants which don't need land mass could have had space whales.

Don't get me wrong, I love exploring 400 billion stars. I take a vacation from The daily grind every year and go someplace interesting just because I can. But I would like to see more than just rocks and plants, maybe have an exciting vacation.

So captain, now that we have you tied to this chair we will be asking you a number of questions. Failure to answer correctly and honestly will result in several red hot tongs going on to your body, resulting in many screams of agony and begging us to stop.

Guards, take him back to the cell. There's nothing more we can do here. He is in a worse situation than being married.

I don't think you know much about the watch market.

No not really.. a few years ago i received a samsung smart watch which i use as a normal watch with fancy faces.. its not connected to anything.

Am i missing anything?

... Is there a reason to consider getting it?
