Should be possible to get the same tile every time with proc gen, even without saving custom POI's.
That's kind of the whole point of proc gen if you think about it, it's not the same as random.
however we'll need to wait and see to know for sure how they've done it.
My point is - moving the mouse over planet - are the tiles identifiable? will i be able to generate a POI for a tile that i visited in the past?
Or the moment the old custom POI is deleted the new one will be a completely random one, which means it's just a random pixel on a fake planet that will get a random tile
Because 10 minutes of running apparently means about 25 square kilometers (haven't done the math, so there is that) and for example Moon surface is about 38 millions square kilometers which means 1.5 millions tiles.
So, do the 1000 planets have each like millions of tiles or... well.. not that many, because let's face it, the tiles dont match with the neighboring tiles because it's not that
kind of game and so those planets are not that kind of
planets
I know how proc gen works, i know that in ED if my 3 commanders all land at specific coordinates, they all 3 will see the exact same terrain
But if i land somewhere in SF in a custom POI and i post screenshots, will you be able to land in the same location and get the same tile and the same scenery?
Or will you be getting a completely random one?
Guess we will see soon
