Game Discussions Bethesda Softworks Starfield Space RPG

I'm near to completing the game (first pass). Just (I think) got two temples to go to finish the main quest and get the remaining powers. However Ive also flown to survey all systems in the game galaxy and was surprised to find indications of temple/anomalies on a planet which I don't think is one of those two...Is this a bug, or have I stumbled on something significant?.
Have you done Barret's temple? That's one not prompted by an artifact.

Agreed, but the anomalies in Fermi3 didn't IIRC show on the map, just on the scanner and also visually out of the cockpit windows. Again, IIRC, I did some xp farming bashing aliens there and the anomalies seemed to follow me around the planet...might go back and do a check before I get to the Unity, only got Entangled to finish now.
Anomalies are on multiple maps. Temples is another story. I think there are probably more temples than you unlock in one run and they get mixed up. Or they are placed new on a playthrough? I didn't really track that over the NG+ iterations I played.

How do you get there? In my 1st pt Barret died. Does it happen after the incident where Starborn attack?
Yep! Though you should still be able to find the temple and get the power for yourself.
My Sarah got killed....
Still got an activity to talk to her which takes me to her room in the Lodge, AND she's still listed in available crew but not assignable... Weird!

That "dying companion" scenario is strange in any case - for me, it was Sam who died (ok, didn't like him anyway - but now Cora is mad at me). Strange because I didn't even have Sarah or Barret voluntarily assigned as companion at any time (running with Andreja), so I would have expected it to be one of them. How did you manage to have Sarah killed? I'd really like to get rid of her.

Didn't follow up on the main mission yet, though - finally got to Pilot level 4, got myself the Kepler and then spent a couple of hours more than I had planned in blowing most of my accumulated cash (~4 M) at the outfitter in the Red Mile. And I still don't have an EM weapon on it.
And now I need to get a few more crew members - and replenish my cash.

In my game Sarah was killed, and she was my companion almost from the beginning. In my understanding, the one who gets killed is the one that is my companion when the mission A High Price To Pay begins. But someone else can probably give a more exact explanation.

I liked Sarah quite much, but I wasn't romantic with her. After she was killed, I was disappointed with the game for some time. I have never felt Andreja interesting because she feels distant and suspicious, and because Sarah is prettier. :)

Ah... right, I forgot that you had the choice of which companion gets killed: the one you "like" most (who will be on the Eye) or the one who you "like" least (who will be on the planet).
In my case, that wasn't even a question - if Andreja is threatened, I'll help her. Sarah is too straight for me - and too inquisitive. Oh, and I avoided the romance part with any of the characters. Even though several of them have made advances.

Fun fact: You can romance them all at once. The only one slightly unhappy with that is Andreja. But when you romance her first and marry her, you can pacify her each time you confess to another Constellation member through one simple persuasion check. In my playthrough we're all a little happy mormon family I guess.

Ah, I'd missed the mission Power From Beyond. Now done and got the power!

I seem to have done some missions out of sequence, but its all converging on the Unity! o_O

I had a very interesting day. Spoilers ahead, though.

I decided to go thru the Unity on my current character. I spoke to my companions before leaving, and had a nice conversation with Cora, who was very excited to become Starborn.

Then, when I went thru the Unity, I wound up in a universe where Cora was all grown up and blamed me for the death of her father (who did NOT die in my playthrough). She wouldn't listen to me though, and I had to kill her in self defense. I was rather sad about this. I put her dead body on the couch in the Lodge and left her there.

It was a lonely universe for me because there was no Constellation left, so I just powered through it to get to the next Unity.

Jumped through that Unity and wound up in a universe where everyone is alive, including me! I was able to recruit myself as a companion, and take myself along as crew. And I got to talk to myself about my past, which revealed a bit of my life before Argos, my childhood, and such. It was cool to fill in those details. I sound like a goofy newbie, though.

And now I'm in that universe, but everyone knows about the Starborn and so we're just rapidly collecting artifacts. It's very strange.

Anyway, I thought it was amusing and interesting to get 2 alternate universes in a row (I've never had one before).

The powers I use the most: Phased Time, Sense Star Stuff, Void Form. Last week I completed the "Background Checks" chapter of the Ryujin quest in record time. No sneaking around, just Void Form + Phased Time through each of the open spaces with guards watching. No one alerted, shot or killed.

Yeah, did that, too and on the final vent I missed the grab trigger. Guard walked in. Had to use the stun gun.

I also did that last week, but I had to stun all of the guards because they started chasing me. 😁 I didn't use any of my magic powers. I seem to often forget that I have them. When I returned to the R&D department on the next day for the installation of the internal neuroamp, I was surprised that the guards were totally fine with me, considering that in the night I had stunned them all.

I recently started modifying my less used ships, because I had over 1.2 million Cr in the bank, and because I wanted to get the Starship Design L4 skill. So I made my Kepler R ship much prettier by removing all the colorful Starfreight Logistics containers and adding four high capacity integrated cargo spaces to the lower part of the ship, between the two large, rotating landing gear modules. There wasn't anything functional in those locations, only passive structures. Then I painted the ship mostly white, leaving some gray areas.

These aftermarket windows are only one-way. I guess it helps with thermal insulation, and also with privacy of course.

I prefer Andreja to be honest I even romanced her never really got a feel for any of the rest and so they were on my ship but never used as none apart from Andreja as a companion on any of the missions apart from the barret mission. And my choice was simple I saved Andreja and the rest on the eye and Sarah died .

Like the idea of getting rid of the box containers and getting some use out of the belly space. Maybe if I get some more money - the complete overhaul of my Kepler R pretty much cleaned me out. Those engines, guns, reactor,... add up. Next on the list is trying to get rid of those outboard swivel engines.

Currently just doing some endgame activity, chasing skill magazines that I missed, before NG+.
I'm flying Digfig's Ziggara2 design, very nice! I started off with the Frontier, got the Razorleaf. Upgraded that from AngryTurtle's quadruple power vid. Got the Star Eagle, then built the Ziggara design. But I'm not into outpost building or researching much, so I'm wondering why I'm carrying around thousands of tons of cargo resources that I'm not going to use, especially since it doesn't carry across. So for NG+ I might go for a ship like

.

Though just for fun I might also steal an Ecliptic Claymore and upgrade it,

The connoisseur uses their weapon of choice. It looks incredibly ramshackle and cheap ass but the mag series is the best.

Speaking of weapons, for melee I use a Varuun pain blade, Kryx's Revenant is my favourite gun, but I also use an Advanced Hard Target for sniping and Advanced Big Bang for robots and xeno. But thinking in NG+ I might try using the powers more (can't currently hit anything when I try the Solar Flare!)
