I have internet. Just downloaded the 7+ GB. So I guess the login servers are overloaded currently. That's okay. Happened last time too.

Welcome to patch day playing! Game breaking upgrade bugs can happen but, if you're on PC it's really, really worthwhile updating your graphics driver to latest version. It seems unrelated to logins and server drops but I've fixed those by updating graphics before now.
