OK using the DSS now requires firing a probe at the planet. Does that mean one will get a vector for such a place as Dav's Hope, Various ship crash sites, barnicle forest, etc. the first time rather than having to use the coordinate method as we have had to do in the past?
And if so, where doesn one buy and store probes. Getting rid of the ADS supposedly frees up a slot, but if I'm mandated to using probes that need to be stored in a cargo rack that takes up a slot. Where is the savings?
Yes, POI should show up on the navigation map once a planet has been mapped and you're close enough.
DSS stores the probes, and they regenerate quickly (max three at a time). DSS mapping is a new scan level, just scanning something with the FSS will give you the current info that you would get scanning in 3.2 with an ADS and DSS equipped (what I never tested for sure is whether you need a DSS to make that happen).
