It's easy to throw out the "troll card" when others have different opinions. But take the question seriously, and you'll have a hard time answering it. New features have been added yet the core gameplay itself - the thing that was touted as being addressed this year - remains essentially the same. The replies here keep pointing out new features that make doing the same thing as before either more time consuming or, frankly, more clumsy or difficult.
Let's look at exploration and it's core gameplay:
- player in ship > scan > get credits
Expand upon it:
- player in ship > jump to (new/existing) system > use ADS to scan system > optionally scan individual planets using DSS > return to station board > get credits
That sums up what has been in the game for exploration where, aside from taking screenshots, what else does one do other than hand-in system info for credits? So take things from here and help describe what else has been developed for exploration in Beyond other than adding new features = new steps to the existing simple gameplay of 'scan and get credits'? These exploration changes remind me of the recent mission board changes where new steps were added to accept, load, unload, etc., but nothing changed to the actual mission trading gameplay itself. To many it simply added grind-time more than being something beneficial.
Okay, so what would one expect as new gameplay? The ideas here are endless and really only up to the imagination of the developers and what the code can support.
Anyway, as always this is just another opinion perhaps shared by 2.8% or more of the Elite customers.
