BGS changes: Learnings/Issues/comments

I'm wondering if either Retreat has been put in with Expansion so you can't do both at once, or if Retreat also requires low happiness in addition to (instead of?) just low influence.

Yeah... i wondered if it may have been coupled as a "reverse expansion" which needs high happiness (apparently)

So the big question is what happens at the end of conflicts? How much influence change? Is there a cooldown and how long? Is this just an initial flood of war that will then settle down in some way?

Despite the initial craziness I'm really curious to see how all this starts to bed in after a few weeks. I guess the galaxy took several years to settle in to the state it was in, now we need to wait for all the (semi) random player activity to mould it in to it's new form.

We've got correct summary yesterday. 3 states: a pending expansion, a pending election, and a war.

Censored because Dark Forest [squeeeee]

I can see a more detail Faction Status Summary report like the one above for my PMF but not for a non-PMF. Does this mean the report only keeps track of days dominated for PMF but not NPC minor factions?

Nothing in the patch notes relates to factions simply not getting any influence. Maybe its covered by "unreliablity", but thats a bit of an understatement of the issue.

Faction system status is still unreliable - just fixing this would save me 8 hours a day

We have now dropped from 72% to 24% since 3.3, with none of our actions counting for Inf. We are now Election Pending, and probably wont be able to win that either.
If we lose this system due to this bug, I will be retiring from BGS, and probably the game (yes, you CAN haz my stuffs). It took 9 months to take this system, and without the ability to conflict lock a faction, it will be impossible to retake it.

Dramatic influence increase for our PMF on today's tick: 12+
Dramatic decrease for a competing MF: - 14
Population 3 Billion

True, We had a few systems where blocking tricks were the only way to take over the system and if we lost them now we could never take them back.
But we have already made up our minds to get smaller if we need as we have 10 systems and up to 30 states is too much for us.
So what about not leaving but getting smaller and more manageable?
