Modes BGS weighting

Its my understanding that there is in fact more weighting for open play; more waiting for market to show, more waiting for instance changing, more waiting for the mission boards.;)

I'll get me coat...

Oh we did.. PvPers can easily turn their hand to PvE when required (yawn). Not so much vice versa though...

The perks of being gud.
Then this whole thread shouldn't be an issue as far as I'm concerned, yet it is. So something deeper is afoot, some of us may know why, some may not. I, for one, am not one of them I guess, but it will not stop me from trying to offer in my 2 cents in if appropriate

When something like this happens, those of us who play exclusively in open start to imagine how better the game would be if you could actually see your adversaries. We end up getting frustrated with how badly designed this area of the game is and end up posting about it.

When you're a pvp-focused group, having to divert all your attention away from what you enjoy doing to swat brainless npcs in conflict zones for weeks at a time just so you can hang on to your home system gets old real fast.

Apparently you forgot about Peer-to-peer, blocking, differences in..you know what, I'm not going to repeat what has been already said God knows how many times. If it isn't understood by now, then I cannot help you. I'm sorry, not sorry

So you have a faction, which you knew before adopting it required pve gameplay to upkeep; now you wan't to change the goalposts? No.

Did I just see a comment about removing open, no please
Open is how elite dangerous should be played

Flying with other cmdrs is the best, busy station are cool

Then I hope you can understand others not wanting their preferred modes removed or gameplay available in those modes removed.

The BGS should be weighted to favour open players trying to defend their system against solo/PG griefers Just look at what happened to the fuel rats this sort of thing is a daily occorance and is happening to many player groups and they are pretty much powerless to do anything about it it takes weeks sometimes months of work to keep a faction yet solo players can sit a a PG and destroy it in a few hours

In the same way that a single player can damage you in "solo / PG", so also a PMF can counter in "solo / PG" through the mechanics of the BGS.

In my opinion, the list of the wanted ones should be implemented, and the autority vessels, against hostile players, made more aggressive. As a result, underming a system by breaking down the authority vessels should be much more dangerous.

With the patch, and multiple states, each system will make itself a story, and the influence of a single player will be resized.

All that stuff about how people can get round p2p is pure whataboutery.. most normal players wouldn't go to those lengths to avoid open so you'd see a difference.

We do, we have a whole discord server dedicated to keeping the system ours. Its a shame our enemies never have the guts to face us in open... At the end of the day, if pvp was no use to BGS warfare, we'd see some of them in open because who cares right? If they had to be in open to win BGS wars they'd have to rethink their tactics massively.

How about this: all Conflict Zones where the defending group is a player faction have to be fought in open for the offensive combat bonds to count towards the BGS? That would be fair to everyone.. Want to be a BGS aggressor? Open only.

Well, that comes with playing the BGS. If you don't like that stuff, don't get involved.

I don't like enginering or combat, so I won't get involved in PvP. I'll play Open, just not PvP.

ah the 'go play something else' card.. I must have a valid argument ;)

Not in the slightest have you ever had a valid argument when it comes to the modes.

Its basic common sense, if you don't like the rules of a game, don't play the game. For example I don't like the rules for Star Citizen, so guess what... I don't play it.

I do like the rules for Elite: Dangerous, where I can play any content in any mode and PvP is optional.
