I agree with you on the Amur is way too fluffy. I even looked up "Amur leopard in summer" and the stock photos that came up all still have a bit of fluffiness around their face and the coat still looks dense. Plus, they are a different build. It does not look the same. Sorry.
That doesn't justify another leopard at this point though. But the amur leopard is the most visually distinctive of the leopard subspecies. At least the one in game. Idk if irl in their summer coat looks the same as a tropical leopard or not but in the game is clearly the fluffy amur subspecies.
So, I personally would want a more typical leopard. Preferably the second most common in captivity subspecies. However, that would ONLY be nice if it didn't take up a single slot. If only Frontier would add a few clones without sacrificing spots for more unique animals. The clones I'd consider if and only if they were a free gift alongside a normal anniversary animal: Indian Wolf (chose it over Arabian Wolf just because it could stand in for Red Wolf too), generic Leopard (Zoos irl have generic leopards so why not?), Eurasian Brown Bear etc...
Guess which wolf above is which?
Too bad Frontier won't give us clones unless they take up spots...
