Black screen when exiting the game, anyone else get this?

Perhaps one game exit in three I get it and have to force a close. I also get a black screen at times when disembarking from a vehicle to on foot and vice-versa. In those cases the game isn't locked up, but I have to hit Esc, exit to the main menu, and re-start to carry on. That happens about as frequently and is extremely annoying.

You mean the ED fps counter or 3rd party (ie. Steam)? I have the Steam counter up permanently just because it's least obtrusive and works with all Steam games.

This happened to me a lot pre patch 4, I used to exit to main menu, wait a few seconds then exit to desktop. That seemed to cure it. Strangely as I hit desktop there is normally a frozen in game image displayed for a second or so.

Yes: been getting this constantly since Thursday's update. If I leave it, it eventually closes about 5-7 minutes after I've quit the game.

I get this from time to time.. but not every time

In my case, it happens everytime after update 4.

Yes, I would say that is true. In horizons it happens maybe once every couple weeks but with Odyssey it happens a few times per week.

I always figured it was an issue with a final data transfer ack from the server getting dropped so the client just never closes while it is waiting for the ack that never comes. With the increased server instability since the release of Odyssey, such server communications issues would naturally increase this issue. That would also explain why so many run into it right after patches since there would be a natural boost to player traffic during that time.

Of course, this is just speculation...I haven't bothered to gather any packet caps or other diagnostic data because I just kill process and move on.
