Easy IMMERSION answer: Thargoid threat is raising concern and money/mats are being thrown around in preparation.

Just enjoy the bonus or don’t if it bothers you so much. IMO this is a good thing and helps bring preparation to the base before the Squadrons update comes out. Now is the time to engineer in anticipation!

bouncy indeed, just imagine everything that could go incredibly wrong with this, from engineer ui getting completely messed up and disfunctional to people making billions from every ton of tea.

Aren't the Thargoids invading the bubble? You'd think people in this universe would be a little more concerned about that at this point. Not throwing 'let's trade' parties.

Again, it's not the event itself but rather the lack of integration to the lore, story, and universe.

It's just so... bizarre.

Elite Dangerous is a game about creating your own narrative for your CMDR. It doesn't hold your hands. If lore is missing for you and your charater's narrative, create it yourself.

Also, who is to say that a Galnet News post won't appear on the 24th?

I do wonder what brought this on. Metrics showing that trading died over a year ago when it was nerfed for the BGS? Engineering still not used as much as expected?

Maybe this is common for MMOs, but if this is one, this is my first one, and I've never seen anything like this before. But I'd assume it is to encourage certain game play.... Maybe just something for us to do before the 3.1 announcements start?

And I applaud that for sure.
Next time I hope FD just find at least a little way to tie it into the story, that's all. A little bit of handwavium is better than none at all.

Shirley it was more fun when the community found them for themselves?
