Post edit: there's a back-story to this. At the end of the 90s our gaming group were playing Mage: The Ascension with me GMing/Storytelling. We were chatting about these kinds of books, way before ancient aliens, when one of our group mentioned "Eric Val Dooliken", mixing the name up of Val Doonican and getting Eric Von Daniken's name wrong, which caused untold hilarity. In my game I then introduced a celebrity name Eric Val Doolikan who was similar to the "Go-karts of the Gods" counterpart on earth - he was a nephandi/alien warping human-kinds minds ready to invite his kin to feast on the flesh of humanity.

I think real-world Eric would approve and I expect a friend invite from him any day now on these forums.
