Description

A new planetary survey initiative has been announced by Brewer Corporation, calling for pilots to scan locations around the core systems.​

Speaking from the newly deployed megaship Trailblazer Echo, CEO Madelyn Teague made the following announcement:​

Recent events have accelerated plans to explore a new age of system colonisation efforts. Brewer Corporation has proudly supported ambitious projects such as the Colonia Bridge, and worked with other corporations to improve and increase starports across the galaxy. Now we take another step forward in the continued march across the stars.
Universal Cartographics has partnered with us to collect, analyse and process the very latest exploration data, to help calibrate our metrics for optimal colonisation targets.

Explorers who wish to contribute to the initiative can hand in exploration data to the Trailblazer Echo in the HIP 90578 system. Contributions will be valued by thoroughness, with full FSS scans & planetary probing completions rewarded higher. ​

​

Data from the following planetary body types has been requested:​

• Rocky Ice
• Rocky
• Icy
• Metal Rich
• High Metal Content

Brewer Logistics is offering the following rewards:​

• All participants will receive a detailed surface scanner V1, pre-engineered with double expanded probe scanning radius. Participants must register at least 1 contribution to be eligible.
• Credit rewards will be distributed according to contribution level.

The campaign begins on the 30^th of January and will run for two weeks. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.​

To earn rewards you must sign up as an active participant before delivering the requested exploartion data to Trailblazer Echo in the HIP 90578 system.​

Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.​

Maybe they just want to drain people of their stored data before they properly fix exploration merit gains.

That is not the case, and pretty sure CGs cannot be limited like that, same goes for materials or mined stuff for those CGs. Any exploration data held can be sold into the CG

There doesn't appear to be a specific location requirement mentioned on the CG itself - there's a set of body types being looked for, but it doesn't seem to restrict by systems. So you can probably scan something out the other side of the galaxy and still have it count. (Though given that there's no bonus for first discoveries, it's not likely to be an efficient way to complete the CG unless you're already out there)

The CG text does specify the core systems (which I have no highlighted in bold text), so probably not a good idea to go too far.

I'm not sure, but I think the CG counts even planets you've discovered by honking.
I simply got there, sold bunch of usual cartographic data you gather while traveling between previously not visited systems, which got me some peanuts in credits and 27 reports submitted.

QQ, is this scanner better than the scanner offered with the Ammonia world survey CG from March 2023?
I have that one and am about 20 thousand LY from the bubble. If it's an improvement, I might rush back.
