Brookfield Zoo

Across from the meerkat is a small habitat for what would be the Cape Porcupine. This is not in the game, so I threw a few of a different ground dweller animal in there to at least give the guests something to look at. This habitat is viewable from both the desert and the forest side pathways.

BTW - this whole building is designed to be mostly a nocturnal environment, so many of the animals you will see here are simulating a night time activity and viewing.

next habitat down the pathway is the caracal (yes, another faux habitat that can accept an animal in the game if needed).
This is a medium sized member of the cat family.

Here is another example of the layered scenery and lighting that I did to make the habitat look more natural and deep.

Across from this habitat is a cross-over cut-through to the other (forest) side of the building.

Here is the interior of the building looking above the finished habitats. You can see there are a few sky lights for some exhibits for during the day.

Here are the fennec fox, or the bat-eared fox in my zoo. again here is the darker exhibit but forced perspective and lighting make it look like a dusk with the sunset in the far distance.

Across from the fox is a small lizard exhibit.

and another faux habitat for the bush baby

This is actually a pretty small habitat, maybe 10x20 feet, but I used deep looking forest murals on the back and side walls to make it look like a never ending tropical forest.

Heading further down the walkway you climb up a bit into the clouded leopard habitat. The idea was that you would be more up in the trees to observe them.

Once again, I used night-like lighting and huge mural on the outside walls to make this look like an expansive tropical forest.

Leaving the leopard area and headed back down to the Fragile Forest side of the building.

On the right is an entrance to the backstage keeper are for the habitats in the middle of the building...on the left is the 'faux' habitat for the Prevosts Squirrel. There is a main habitat viewing area, but there are also net-like tubes that traverse around the building that the squirrels can move about. For example, the pass over the clouded leopard habitat over your heads. I did not try to re-create the tubes, but the habitat is there.

Let's head back out side again and take a look at the Amur Leopard (not the specific species in game, but the regular leopard will work just fine).
Here is the general habitat plot before much of anything is done with it yet.

Here is what this area looks like from the master plan. Rockwork, plants and exhibit building still need to be added.

Here is the same view once completed. We will take a closer look at he details in weeks to come.

Working on the backstage area for the leopards...within the lion house for the keepers access.

This is the habitat side of the backstage area. There will be a raised walkway for viewing and the animals will enter the backstage area below the walkway.

Further out there will be a viewing area for an inside cave den area right along the path.

Foreground is what will be the habitat for mixed hoof animals (non African). Background is the building being worked on that will house the animals and have viewing areas.

Another quick shot of this habitat, which will be worked on next. The Monorail and the train actually pass through this habitat.

Looking down on the layout of this building.
Red is the leopard viewing and exhibits.
Blue is the Learning Center.
Yellow are the holding barns and viewing of the hoofed animals.
