With a time halfway between the previously recorded entries, CMDR Alec Turner moves into 2nd-place in the Top Fuel class.

CMDR Alec Turner improves his time to leap frog past CMDR Aken B., bit CMDR Bruski switches ships and jumps even farther ahead!
...and promptly went swanning off to pick up passengers in my Orca.

Why not?Regarding the tricky flying...why are you trying to get a shot from inside of the toaster rack?
Paint, what's paint? I don't think my Asp has had paint in months due to Buckyballing. If a Buckyballer is afraid to scratch some paint, is s/he really a Buckyballer? [big grin]
That's gorgeous. But where did you get that paint job?Exploration finished. Announcing a change of ship.

Brmm brmmm!
Ain't that the truth. I think the Asp is the one for this race, although I'm curious if an engineered Anaconda could win by making that 85 LY jump in one hop.*checks Alec's jump range*
*checks his Courier's range*
*checks Alec's range again*
*slowly unplugs the hotas, stores it in its box, closes Elite launcher and stares at the crowded desktop, contemplating the void*
This is actually the #1 reason I abandoned the iCourier. That plotting is SO messed up. You have my sympathy.First attempt: interdicted (abort)
Second attempt: emergency stop while trying to planetary brake a white dwarf (abort)
Third attempt: going really well until - unable to plot route, maximum distance exceded
Huh? What followed was literally about 10 minutes of just drifting outside Vasilyev Vision while I tried to figure out why the hell I couldn't plot a route to my next bookmark, or indeed anywhere apparently.

Then it dawned on me.
The route plotter can't plot multi-jump routes featuring a boosted first jump.
w. t. actual f.
Looks like it's back to the drawing board for a re-think on my route.
Great, now that's how I have to feel too! [mad]Gah, I don't believe it ... I did it AGAIN! I got cocky, thought "right, that time's gonna sit at #1 until the end, my work here is done" and promptly went swanning off to pick up passengers in my Orca.

Oh man. That's so beautifully perfect. I'm watching it again and again....
Congratulations Bruski, that is an excellent time indeed ... 20 seconds tho ... I'm sure I can find 20 seconds from somewhere!
Lavecon 2016 ... roll on 2017That's gorgeous. But where did you get that paint job?
Yup, that jump's the clincher alright ... I'm so damn close to being able to make it ... maybe if I just run of fumes? (but then of course I'd have to refuel). I also tried rewriting my route plotter to ignore total distance and just try to find a route with all jumps under 80ly .... nothing doing.I think the Asp is the one for this race, although I'm curious if an engineered Anaconda could win by making that 85 LY jump in one hop.
Man what a pity...the Asp may have been the one for this race, but the Courier sure could hold itself....I think it could still come out on top of the ladder (or at least jump on a solid 2nd place...hypothetical apologies Alec!), and I was in the process of determining this, when an unlucky overcharging maneuver left my fsd charged but...charged 2 ly short of my planned destination (usual charge is around 42 ly from the original 27, the system was 38 ly away...the fsd charged only to 36)...[mad]...
And this ended my only available attempt before deadline...next time, next time. *shakes fist*.
