With all the recent Alliance-oriented CG's, I have hit the point where I actually feel like it is worth playing an Alliance CMDR. So I no longer have a need for my second (Imperial) CMDR who I largely created just to participate on the galactic stage.

Whoa wait... you've got two accounts? Wow...

I just wish FD would hurry up and give us multiple slots for commanders. I want a dedicated slot for racing, the other one for the "other stuff" :p

Yeah, I originally got the second account with the idea of using one for exploration and one for stuff in populated space. But as much as I enjoy exploration, I have found that I enjoy it best in small doses. So I never actually get that far out into the deep black much.

However, since my primary CMDR is Alliance, there wasn't really anything for him to do for a while there. So I made my second CMDR an Imperial bounty hunter, based loosely on a character in a story I wrote years ago. But now, the Alliance has things to do... so I don't really need that, either.

EDIT: Also, does anyone know where I can find A-rank AFMU's? looking for A1, A2, and A3, and having absolutely no luck whatsoever finding them.

Wish I could help... I get all my stuff at Shinrarta - ships, modules, weapons etc. It has everything I ever wanted, and at a permanent discount too...

That is also part of the reason why I started selling my exploration data off at all High Tech worlds after I came back from Sag A*. I was thinking I should start looking at what each High Tech world had to offer and maybe become very friendly with them in case some CG or game mechanic in the future might capitalise (yes, "S" not "Z") on your relation with them. My personal hope is that eventually, systems that are ALLIED with you will sell you stuff at a discount (5%, 10% etc), and if the system is hostile to you (red ships everywhere, red station), you wouldn't even be allowed to dock.

Which incidentally reminds me of something really funny that happened the other day - I was just flying around Fed space doing stuff and I got interdicted. The guy was an NPC pirate from a faction that is NEUTRAL to me. He had a WANTED tag, so I opened fire. During the fight, 2 more of his cronies warped in (could hear the hyperspace "puff" sounds) and I saw the target description added a "Wing (3/3)" line.

So I killed the guy, turned to face the other 2 ... and I realised (yes, S again, not Z) they're GREEN to me... their faction was "Federation", which I am "FRIENDLY" status with. They still had their WANTED tags on them, but they did NOT fire on me. So, since they didn't fire on me, I let 'em go..

They promptly went "puff" and jumped out-system.

I thought that was pretty cool, how the faction thing worked :)

Just heard the A* segment on RSW, nice job Ceska :D

Thanks, Glad you liked it.

I owe a big debt of gratitude to CMDR Arbitration for actually making me sound good.
I need a better mic (Free standing, not connected to my head set), and a better location to record (Less background noise, better acoustics)
But all that will have to wait till Mid/Late Aug when I get back home from Comic-Con.

In the mean time I'll continue experimenting with different ways to try and improve the sound quality.

Sounded great to me, Ceska. You guys at RS keep pumping out quality stuff. How much time per week do y'all put into this you think? Thanks for doing it - and I don't mean covering the Buckyball. RS has become a regular part of my ED experience. :D

I can't speak for the rest of the team..

But I really should have been asleep 4 hrs ago. I have work in 4 hrs...
.. and I'm still up, doing RSW stuff. Scripting, Concept and Planning Discussions.
I'd hate to think how much time Arbitration spends in Post-Production on my stuff. Let alone his own content.
(Oh, and I haven't even logged in to E : D at all in the last 24hrs)

*Yawn*
Eugh, maybe I should at least try and get 3hrs sleep before work.

Must... become... Elite...

Yeah, I flew around to a good 25 different high-tech stations yesterday, in Alliance and Fed space both with no luck.

Flying a 20T Hauler is an experience. It is hands-down the most instantly-responsive ship I have flown. Even with D thrusters it is well below half optimal mass, so itfeels featherweight. Stops on a dime, reverses direction much more quickly than I'm accustomed to... I forgot to request docking permission once and when the warning popped up I was going about 150. I never actually got into the slot; I had completely arrested my forward motion by about halfway through the toast rack.

The thing is actually really fun to fly. I may have to break it out again for future Buckyball Runs. If it had a little more raw speed it'd be the perfect racer.

Buckyball 6 would like a word with you about that final sentence. :D

I agree though, the Hauler's a nippy little ship if you strip it down. The Eagle felt pretty similar to me when I was flying it in BBR7 - the maneuverability is just daft, as you know all too well from a couple of Jaryd's moments in On The Ball :D

Oh, yes. The Eagle is great fun to fly. You can pull off all sorts of reckless stunts that would splatter you all over the station wall in.most any other ship.

And that Eagle in BBR7 was full combat kit, too!

Buckyball getting plenty of media coverage now - twice on Radio Sidewinder this evening (one for Ceska's report, the other reporting the bounty placed by Raiko as part of the bounty bulletin), now I've docked and see Kulzar's coverage in the starport news bulletin :D. You never know, it might get us a few new entrants...

Would be good - still, even as it is now the Big Board is living up to its name! :)

Woo! :D Thank you very much for your efforts Kulzar!

It wouldn't have been possible without you! :)

And now, you can brag to everyone that CMDR Alot is very much part of the Elite lore now. :p

Let's not forget that Kligg is also famous now!

I've just spotted the little extra that Bucky slipped into the big board in the last update...

(or should that be "upd8"?)

Haha... It took me a while to spot it! For a minute I thought it was going to be a hint at the BBR8 start date, but I think I like this better :p

Had to grin at the mail today - after all, it's not every day that you receive a letter addressed to one CMDR Takaru Minari after all. I really can't help but repeat what the others have said before me: From the envelope to the sticker itself, this looks pretty darn sweet. If that's no reason to do the Sadge run, then I really don't know what is.
Great job and thanks a lot!
