Bugs, bugs, bugs, bugs so what does FDev fix? USS farming.

The mining thing is kind of a non-issue. People got too caught up in "look how many chunks I'm getting", and forgot that 2 limpets on an AspX collects painfully slow. I took lots of stats on many of my mining runs, and I ultimately made the same cr/hr in my 5 blaster AspX as in my 2 blaster Cutter (which almost never got 2 fragments per rock). Any gains you make with 5 blasters are offset by limpet collection time and selling every 104 tons. Maybe some smarter players used something like a Krait instead which could do 3 blasters I think, and carry a lot more cargo...I suspect that might have been worth it, although I never tried myself.

I used the Krait Phantom and tried 3 abrasion blasters, but they didn't align well enough. Had a hard time getting three chards. Two worked like a charm though. I like the phantom because it's so easy to fly and move around. Very useful for setting the charges but also running around blasting the surface pieces after.

Example:
1. Imperial Cutter when trying high wake to a target right in front of you won't. Keeps saying align to target!

I don't think it's a bug, that's how bad the manouverability is- you may be facing it, but that's not the way the ship is going.

I'm sure you could add another 10 additional bugs in place of that one though.

The problem is the priority. The navlock, for one, has been bugged for ages. I wonder if they finally fixed that after all these years (I doubt it) or it still drops you 1000's of kms from your wingmate occasionally, above the far side of a nearby planet.

With ages old bugs like that still present, we could keep living with the abrasion blaster thing for a while I think, especially since it wasn't an annoying one (on the contrary).

Yeah the number of longstanding bugs is atrocious, either they have decided that if a bug attains a venerable age they will just grandfather it in as a feature, they just fix the easy stuff, or they arent smart enough to fix some of the long standing bugs.

"Fixing" the abrasion blaster, rather than spending the dev effort on things that actually impede gameplay (i.e. the navlock bug, bugged massacre mission signal sources), imo, says a lot about their priorities.

EDIT: Another word about their priorities, they are in it to make money and as long as we keep giving them money, their priorities wont change and these long standing bugs wont be fixed.

You do understand that the AB was bugged, and that they fixed it, and that that is what you are unhappy about? Right?

Not specifically that.... the whole buggy mess from transient keybinds to the BGS to you know what.... but just take the mining payouts... generally thought to be a GOOD quality of life aspect....

The AB 'BUG' actually worked for a living...people liked it, bug or not....but other Loooooonnnnnngggggggg standing game blighting bugs.... continue to...well.... STAND (some for years now)

I don't know why there's rage because of the AB exploit fix and that leading to lesser income. I knew of that exploit pretty much since the beginning but never used it and I still came out with 70 million after roughly 1 1/2 hours of blowing up asteroids in a LTD hotspot. Nice payout if you ask me.

All this fix does is to put the exploiters back to how it was intended to work. For me, it doesn't change a thing.

I'm late to the party but 100% what the OP said. HGE removal makes getting PI pretty much impossible aside from awful trade as Aashenfox has explained in detail.

Abrasion removal mostly irrelevant, VOs are still an easy billion credits with relatively tiny effort.

Last night I discovered I could system chat from Eravate to Kini while trying to arrange a 1v1. I did not believe it at first but friend requested the guy and yep, we were system chatting across different systems. It was the most confusing system chat ever until I realized it was just a bug. (Possibly PS4 specific)

I probably have on video but probably won't be bothered to report because of what the fix priorities seem to be. 6 of my 9 OPs are bug reports but eh I kind of just give up.

Farming USS was a fun...

No, it wasn't.

You can relog to try and overcome the pad-hogging issue.
Is that "fun" too?

I'm sure it was a superb way to max-out your G5 mat's (as many people seem to have taken advantage of it to do) but it's kind of insulting people's intelligence to try and tell them it was fun.

*EDIT*

FWIW, it does seem like we've been screwed in regard to HGEs though.

Previously, and in the beta, HGE spawn rates were purely dependent on the system state.
So, for the sake of example, if there was a 5% chance of a HGE spawning then 1 in 20 USS's would be a HGE - which, when a system was in the correct state, meant you got specific mat's.

Now HGE spawn rates are tied to faction state as well as system state.
So, for comparison, if we have the same 5% chance of a HGE spawning but there are, say, 5 factions in a system and only one of them is in Boom, there's still the 1 in 20 chance that a HGE will spawn but then there's also only a 1 in 5 chance that it'll be linked to the faction in Boom and, thus, overall there's now only a 1 in 100 chance that you'll find a USS that can provide you with your potato-radios or whatever.

Terrific. [sad]

I admire your patience.

I vaguely remember a conversation. It was in a book or movie or something. It was along the lines
- Why are you not angry?
- Would it help?
- No.
- Then i don't need to be angry.

Unfortunately i am not always this calm, but it's just a computer game. No matter how angry i could get, it wouldn't improve the situation. And no game is important enough for me to get riled up about. If things really go south, there are enough other games out there to spend my time on. There are enough other developers out there to take my money. The ones to really be troubled and stressed when a game breaks and has problems are the developers. Their income depends on it, they can't just shrug it off. But for me, as long as i can't fix things, i also don't really trouble myself for a game. (The -people- in a game can be a completely different topic, though. People matter. )

The neutron star giving x4 to the FSD was originally a bug, but FDev listened to the community when they asked to keep it. I hope FDev listen now when I and many others say that the multiple abrasion bug was FUN and made mining more enjoyable. It was skill based gameplay. It took effort, patience and thought to line up those shots. I don't care about the money so much as I care about how it felt. PLEASE BRING IT BACK

Sorry dude that's not skillful that's an exploit.

Hope it's gone for good.

Cobblers.

It took skill, effort, patience and thought in the same way that walking on your hind legs takes skill, effort, patience and thought.

I don't care about the money so much as I care about how it felt. PLEASE BRING IT BACK

Cobblers x 2.

So, if FDev decided to bring it back and apply it only to, oh, let's say Bauxite deposits you'd quite happily employ that skill, effort, patience and thought to mine Bauxite for Cr200 per tonne?
Cos, I don't think you would.
I think you'd only do it if it allowed you to earn a heap of credits.

I didn't care much about it being removed, but the idea it was skill based is just objectively untrue.

Getting multiple fragments meant either point blank shot, or ~800m, stand still, let mini-gimbal on fixed converge, fire.

Actual skill base is taking a small ship, maneuvering inside blasted core as soon as possible, shooting surface desposits with 1x blaster while still in lateral or vertical motion without slowing down. FA-off even harder but probably would speed things up. So most efficient use of 1x abrasion is much more skill based than most efficient use of 5x abrasion.

All that said, I am all for reducing grinding as much as possible so had a slight preference to keep the multiple behavior there. But it's gone, let's just deal with it. There's still a ton of easy money there.

Farming resources now is a joke, find high grade uss is worse than paint drying. Give up with the game.

How is it fun fdev?

Really need to use your brains, since putting the fss in the game its just tottaly made find mats too much of a chore. If you need high grade emmissions you have to sit there for hours. You call that fun?

Come back from a break from the game as you get bored with the absolute grind, to find the fss in the game thats now made finding high grade emmissions a chore.

Think its elite bye bye

Wow, the mental gymnastics some people go to to try and justify exploits.
Multiple Abrasion blasters were absolutely no more fun than single or double ABs...
And you can still get to Elite in ONE DAY... absolutely pathetic.

Think about that... Getting Elite rank in one day when it used to take the better part of a year!

With a Cutter, trading slaves got you 3000-4000 per tonne for an hour or two before the prices sank. If you were lucky you could pull in 3-4M per hour.
The Cutter itself was an epic grind that took many people nearly two years to achieve and felt like a real accomplishment.

Now you can get to a Cutter in a couple of weeks if you set your mind to it.

meh... FDEV are doing themselves and Elite a real disservice by catering to the ME ME NOW NOW brigade.

So people should have to grind for two years just to get into a Cutter now? Yes a person can get Elite in one day if they sat down for 8 straight hours on end mining void opals, which nobody but a few people do.

Let’s be realistic here, money-making in this game has been the best it ever has been this time around after the update, and we are not gonna let people like you try and take that away from us. Of you want to grind slowly over time then that’s your prerogative, stay in your damn lane and just mind your own business, people making money doesn’t affect your gameplay in any way, shape, or form except for the fact that you own bragging rights to the fact it took you 2 years to get the Cutter.

In the meantime I’m just gonna enjoy all these credits that I now have ;)
