Bugs Galore

keyboard still locks up. when you get a mission update,or message.

temporary quick solution is to hyper jump to another planet/system and keyboard may return.

RedPaw, when the customers of a retail product routinely have to do the fixes themselves, the vendor has a problem.

While I can confirm that this works, I wouldn't call it a fix, but a workaround - as it disables the trails completely. Agree with the general point though and is exactly what I thought earlier when manually updating the config file.

After (at least, I lost track) 4 Crash/Collect Information/Send Feedback cycles, I stopped trying last night.

First was while setting the Power Priorities (actually I think there was at least two of these). Second was setting Fire Groups.

I managed to get all of that set and jumped to the next system to finish my ship build. I got just to the point of final approach to the landing pad (pad number right in front of the canopy) before the next cycle. The final crash was just as I was getting ready to Request Docking (I was not quite in range).

They secretly gave us a used Model 1/bis in the update... :)

I would definitely grab an XBox One X over the PS4 Pro (I returned my new Pro because I was underwhelmed). However, with the PS5 coming out "soon enough", I'll likely just wait. All the other games I play look fine on PS4 (though Subnautica has some serious pop-in), and there are so many other bugs in ED that I can't justify paying serious $$ to only fix the graphics issues in this one game.

I bought my Xbox One and One X purely for ED but the way ED is developing atm I wouldn't do that again.
The PS5 would be the logical choice for you, you'll probably be able to play your PS4 games on the 5 too.
I just hope that Fdev will develop ED further with the PS5 in mind too and not as they do right now for the PS4.
The Xbox 2 is in development too and is expected to be released next year too just as the PS5, maybe another option to consider.

The best solution would still be that Fdev would concentrate more on quality over quantity imho.
They keep pressing out new features but stop further development of these features somewhere half way.
Thargoids, Multicrew, Guardians, Planetary landings, etc, etc, they're all unfinished products all waiting for further development.
This also affects performance and graphical quality on the various platforms imho.

When graphics took a huge nerf on PS4, a few PC players blamed my equipment. Some blamed MY equipment ("Your PS4 is defective!"), others blamed consoles in general ("Consoles are rubbish!", "Buy a PC if you want good graphics!"), but this latest twist just proves what I've been saying all along - the blame lies with the game.

Though I admit that I'm really tempted to tell everyone to "Upgrade your PC!" in the spirit of Karma, but I'll hold my tongue.. 😏

I'm running a GTX 2080 and haven't seen VR performance this bad since starting out on a GTX 1060 with everything cranked up too high. There's no visible difference/increase in graphics quality, so something is very awry.

Look on the bright side.... in 2020 Frontier will ask you to pay for their next gen-amazeballs release....

:ROFLMAO:

At least installing it will be optional! :)

I would rather not have had this last update with the bugs, or 3.3 with things I didn’t want, but you get no choice about that at all.

My biggest gripe is with the FPS issues. I've been able to follow the fourms and turn off the FX option and that cleared everything up.... only in full screen. I play borderless. Borderless FPS used to be 144 fps steady (I use a 144hz monitor). Now it's all over the place from 40 to 70 and is all choppy and jaggy now. Frontier, please take a look at Borderless FPS issues as well

My Krait Phantom (the same one that suddenly has an un-storable PP and PDist) seems to have also been to the Prometheus School of Spaceship Landing.

Dunno what's going on but I think it's properly broken. :(
Last time one of my ships had these sort of problems it was a DBX (which also happened after a slot was added) and I ended-up having to sell it and buy another one.

This is my fault... I've been complaining about shadows for so long that Frontier finally decided to give everyone super-duper double-plus extra-ultra quality shadows, which may unfortunately impact performance slightly.

I mean, the shadows are super-duper double-plus extra-ultra quality now, right? RIGHT???
