Building a weir (and flowing water in general)

Agree! Add some driftwood Planks and it will look even better. Love it and looking forward to the video [happy]. Hope it is not a Justin Beaver Video [mouth shut]

thanks! i have recorded the game-play for a few short videos... a series!

Building a Weir (small waterfall) #1 = my first attempt, basic flat weir, a bit rubbish
Building a Weir (small waterfall) #2 = a v-notch weir - not entirely happy with it but if you're trying to do this too, it'll be useful i hope
Building a Weir (small waterfall) #3 = the log-weir that is in the waterwheel/mill shot << this one i like
Building a Weir (small waterfall) #4 = a larger log weir
Building a Weir (small waterfall) #5 = a weir with an arch the water flows through
Building a Beaver Dam (weir #6) = the beaver dam (albeit too green, but there you go)
Building a Waterfall = natural waterfall, which i quite like

NO LINKS YET (sorry), i do the raw footage and then i have to wait for my generous daughter to break from uni assignments and do the legwork of making youtube videos for me.
yeah yeah i could do it but i have a day job too so it wouldn't happen any quicker lol.
apologies for the delay, will have the first 2-3 up sometime next weekend, hopefully useful to some players trying to get flowing water to look ok.

First video as promised (sorry it's taking a while), with thanks to sqmsy-Sam (my daughter)...

Building a Weir (small waterfall) #1 = my first attempt, basic flat weir, a bit rubbish but the evolution and creative process might be useful.

i have seen a few posts from people about feeling concerned about creative inspiration - yeah well, i understand.
as you can see, it can take ages for us non-creative types to make anything look half decent.

STILL TO COME:

Very nicely done, very helpful. Thanks! I look forward to the rest of them.

This looks amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful. Can't wait to see more [happy]

So beautiful looking. Is this going to be a part of a park? I love the last shot! [heart]

These are really pretty!

Have you got any Lot's for sale? Looks like a lovely place to live....Very warm and welcoming, love it!

Thank you for the videos. Very useful advice. I now want to fit one into my park!

thank you everyone for the kind remarks.

i'm about to fly from Australia to New Zealand (home).
when i land, just before midnight NZT, i'll upload an intro video of the small section of the park that this weir features in.

and then it's a full-on weekend, as i have another weir video to finalise AND i promised more fireworks in that other thread so... busy busy.

see y'all tomorrow!

Just wanted to say all the examples in your first few posts look great, and I would like to echo the request for a way to create truly flowing water. Maybe they can add a directional tool for "flat" rivers, otherwise water always flows down. And it would be amazing if we could somehow add tides for beachfront areas.
