Button prompts

Ah, that's another matter. All I'm saying is that judging from the video , nothing new will be added to the UI and what's new is part of the tutorial only.

Well, let's hope.

They have altered the throttle UI (for the better)

I am assuming they think they have altered the safe disengage for the better, but they haven't..

What "lift off prompt"?
hyperjump prompt? There was objective on the right panel - to initiate hyperjump, and tip in the upper part of the screen what to press to charge the drive -OBVIOUSLY part of the tutorial script.
I was refering to this one:

And since I'm at it, this:

This is all very helpful through the first two weeks playing, but after that it's just obsolete and, at least for me, pretty annoying.
I really love the feeling of controlling a space ship, which is what makes Elite so unique. These small things take a little bit away from that feeling.

100% agree.

So wait, what I'm gathering is that this is all conjecture from watching the new player experience video, not from what's going into the game?

I didn't notice anything this morning, but I was just on to bury some jumps toward a destination. Is this a problem that's real, or are we trying to a solve a situation that may not even exist?

Creating forum threads should be like Deep Core mining, you gotta look and be sure first.

This is agreeable, a toggle for these minor notifications would be nice. However, it should default to on.

From the video, it didn't look like a tutorial overlay, it looked like they replaced the old graphic.

I hope I am wrong.

But I agree with your premise in general.

Ok, I get it, but those things we already have - and I agree that it would be nice to turn those off (more options is always better anyway) - but as I said, what we saw in the reveal video doesn't suggest that anything new, or more would be added (and what was added was part of tutorial mission script). As I understood this was your main concern.

Elite Dangerous has the most garbage Keybindings Management.

“Users should back up their keybindings before a patch”

What sort of response is that?

“Press Joy 13” Okay Fine - on which controller?
Can I please name my controllers?

Can I please have the rest of my keybindings remain in place if I unplug one controller?

Can I please have a number of keybinding profiles easily accessible (load and save) so I can try out changes?

Elite Dangerous is a driver of hardware purchases. Frontier need to do better.

QOL pass for keybindings please.

Anyway, I'd love to see a distinction between a gamey mode and a normal mode. "gamey" can have all the things that break the simulation, like the background tinting, all the button prompts, on-screen bindings displays and "help" functions, while all these things are substituted or hidden for the sake of preserving the simulation in "normal".
I'd pay for options like that.

Allow button prompts to be either turned on or off. Problem solved. Please, FD!
While that sounds like a simple idea, they'll have to classify these specific prompts and create a separate class for them with a toggle-dependent visibility, so even if they start working on it right now, it could take time, depending on how they're built.

Should have been structured that way from the start, but hindsight, I suppose.

The degree to which things annoy you is in direct relationship to the number of metaphorical mental mattresses you have on the bed so you don't feel the pea.
I had noticed these messages in game and only been mildly insulted.

To veer slightly off OP's main point (but not the spirit), the enormous legume in my bed that cannot ever be smoothed out is the redundant starport public announcement that all pilots must get landing permission before approaching the entrance.

This annoyance is doubly redundant in that:
1 the announcement is made after the commander has successfully followed protocols, and
2 the pilot that fails to follow the protocol is assailed with dire warnings of fines and big red letters before the announcement is made.
