C&P and ATR need some tuning + rumor of a loophole to avoid paying the hefty rebuy?

In this case - how much for a decent clipper? 80 million?

Thats a pretty hefty price to pay - though if someone racks up their bounty to 500 million or so it doesn't sound like much,

But guess what, with the ever new money fountains that completely screw up the economy of the whole game, devaluating credits and prices this isn’t really a problem, is it? 80 millions? That’s half hour of “fun” gameplay at the nearest skimmer mission system.

“Fun” money fountains are the single biggest problem in this game, for they have direct effects on pretty much everything else, from trading and missions to, as this case makes spectacularly clear, crime and punishment.

Consequences, not eradication. Using a clipper instead of an FdL, or 'Vette is still a consequence. Along with the costs in time and credits. Even the time spent replenishing bank accounts is a consequence. Looking for an overall panacea from the C&P system is a mistake.

The price of the ship isn't too relevant, no?
If you sell it before being caught, you'll get 90% of your money back.

lets play spot the ATR...

Ding ding!, we have a winner folks! yes I simply sell my wanted ship and engineer a new one... with the new engineers it takes about 30min, if I die I take the sidewinder.
Two issues with that.
a)In your pictures showing you going from "Wanted with 200M Cr" to "Clean" has the same Credit Balance. That shouldn't be possible by ditching your ship.
b)And that shouldn't be possible with the Legacy modules being transferred, as they should still be hot and need to be paid off or lose them in the process.

So, I'd say it's not as easy as you make it out to be. Care to elaborate?

You don't have to sell the ship. just change into another ship. bounty is on the ship - not the pilot.

No - if you have a bounty, then that bounty is connected to the ship - so you can only sell it at a bigger discount. i don't know what that is though and whether it scales according to the size of the bounty.

According to FDev (I know, but still), the modules of the wanted ships should also be hot and need to be paid off for the new ship to not be wanted as well. HP uses Legacy Frag Cannons and he shouldn't be able to move them over to the new ship without "cleaning them."
See the problem?

Correct my legacy modules are stuck unless i pay to clean them, I already had a second clipper so that's why my balance is the same... I have like 6 or 7 clippers for different builds.

It's a nice compromise. Criminals can still crime, but they have to consider when and how. Your Notoriety will persist for how ever long, even in the second ship. Any murder crimes in the new ship will bring on the ATR response your Notoriety deserves. It looks like all is well.

I don't see a problem either. Not many players will have put the time in that HP has to have such a fleet and balance, and yet even in those circumstances you have to weigh up what approach you want to take.

I like this system as you can basically have a "crime" ship you use for whatever reason, while doing legit work in other ships.

So, "if I die I take the sidewinder" also applies if the Legacy modules are fitted? ;)

Well, that makes your "trick" a little less "magical" tbh. I thought you said you had a way to get around paying the bounties if you died. You actually meant that you had a way to get around paying the bounties if you died after changing to a clean ship.
Colour me disappointed.

No, you misunderstand I keep my legacy module as long as I do not die, and I don't BUT in the event I have a 1b bounty I lose the ship and its legacy module as I would have to take the sidewinder.

I never suggested it was an exploit simply a method that many will not take as it requires effort.

Eh, that was pretty much a highlighted feature of the new C&P; switch ships and you are clean.
Way to make much ado about nothing...

For someone like me who is really slow on the uptake the method is as follows??

Buy a ship, engineer it for max damage and speed. With pinned blueprints this can take as little as 30 mins at any station.

Go and find some CMDRs and using premium ammo buff destroy them.

Wake out? Or hang around for ATR to appear and then wake out? Or can you confuse ATR by just zooming away 20km from their spawn in a super fast ship? Ie. They appear, can’t see you, so go away.

Go to Anarchy system, sell hot ship and buy new one and repeat?

If ATR catch you, or a player even and you get destroyed, take Sidewinder (as bounty isn’t applied??) and start again?

The last bit sounds a bit odd, plus ATR interaction seems bugged as well? I am assuming having better ATR AI (not necessarily god weaponed ships) would make this more challenging? Plus ensuring bounty accrued is paid on death regardless of ship selected?

Apologies if I got this wrong?
