Call to Arms for a Free Colonia

Which one... I have so many voices in my head...
It's quite all right. Neurological studies on patients with transorbital lobotomy have shown us that our cognitive processes are composed of multiple wills, voices if you will, and the appearance of one singular consciousness is simply a product of specific functions of the brain, which can be bypassed under certain conditions.

Hmmm, ok back to the war, have left for the Bubble, had passengers on my Carrier. Managed to turn in quite a few kills for The nameless, it was just me and another cmdr in Open, the opposition had lots of cmdrs. I managed to get one guy to high wake, but was heavily outnumbered in CZ's after that. I assume it is still the case that only NPC kills count.

Not many cmdrs bothering with open then?

Well... Day 3 of the war in Carcosa and Ratkatcher sent me this:
day2.jpg

Just out of curiosity... Is that reliable? Like, is there a way of seeing how the war is going? That 36.3% number has, for instance, remained still both for the Nameless and eu, since first blood. If i understand bgs correctly, war is a 7 day fight and the one who has 4 victory days wins. Can it then be settled before 7 days?

Inf is locked during a war, what matters is the "close victory". Depending on the input before the daily tick it will inform you about the outcome after.

Oh, and "Happiness" says it all really ;)

First to 4 wins so if all goes well we can get the hammocks out on Sat after the tic ;)

Correct, best of 7 days, ends earlier if result is uncontestable, so the fastest it can end is 4-0. Not likely here, but can end on scores like 0-1 if no activity at all happens on a particular day.

The in-game information is a little tricky to read:
- the right panel shows the current margin of victory, from "total defeat" (-3) to "total victory" (+3), so from that you can tell that the Nameless have won one more day than EN - but this could be 1-0, 2-1, or 3-2 (4-3 would end the war, so it's not that)
- the local news articles tell you the won days for each side, but not whether this is winning or losing. By looking at both of those - or one of them and the right panel - you can tell the result is 2-1.

Neither of those will tell you if it's 2-1 (3 days elapsed, at least two more days needed to go to 4-1 and win) or 2-1 (6 days elapsed, 3 draws, will end tomorrow either 3-1, 2-2 or 2-1) unfortunately ... though in a contested fight you can probably assume no drawn days.

To be fair, I'm engaging in this conflict on my original XBox account, but...I haven't seen a single hollow square in three nights worth of combat. Plenty in Colonia...a few in Ratraii...but not a one in Carcosa. So either, XBox CMDR's are afraid of anarchy and war or no one participating in the conflict on XBox is in Open. It's interesting. I'd have liked to have done this on my PC account, but it is currently tied up in the Glorious HIP's endeavor.

From comments by console players in Carcosa, it seems instancing is a bit of an issue - on both platforms - currently. They may be there with you but only as ghosts...

May well be the case...but wonder why it would only affect us in Carcosa? Could be disinformation to hide their efforts in modes other than Open...?

i'm not there, but this is to be expected. wars in elite are a grind competition. if the outcome is of any relevance, going pve to win that pvp battle is simply the best tactic. doing it in open would be for fun only but much less efficient. this is just how the game is. to me the fact that you see nobody fighting in open just means that all those implied do take the outcome seriously.
