Calling all Federation Commanders - We are at War with the Empire

It always struck me as odd that there was an Empire "outpost" in the middle of Federation territory. How did that spring up without Empire influences nearby?
The war is already on in Volungu... The Empire's aggressive use of it's forward assault base in Liaedin is now expanded to Volungu. We have to draw a line in the sand!

The Federation needs a focus point Commander and that focus is Liaedin.
Our commanders are lost, fighting numerous wars across the galaxy, the Battle for Liaedin will unite us. It will send a message to the Empire that together we are strong. We cannot allow this Imperial stronghold to be the launching point of their planned invasion on the Federation.
We will rally together, we will start this war in Liaedin by supporting the Crimson Fortune Company and then we will win it.
Out of the ashes of this war, a new Federation will rise, a united Federation. A Federation that does not fear the Empire but instead stands proud in this galaxy.
That is why it must be Liaedin.

I'll be fighting for the Federation in Volungu and for the Empire in Liaedin.
The status quo worked pretty well, and neither the Empire expanding beyond their exclave, nor the Federation trying to annex it, are beneficial to me or most pilots.
I expect to be harassed by both sides, and I expect both sides to incur losses at my hands because of this.

Commander... it is time to choose sides. Power Play is going to force your hand in this matter sooner rather than later. We would welcome your full support for the Federation.

And Liaedin was so nice for turning imperial bounties in.
Now if I want to cash up 15 000cr of wanted dead people, I have to run a gauntlet of power crazed feds with a death wish.

The EIC has placed Liaeden on lockdown. Anyone found within Liaeden that is not a confirmed friend of the Empire will be encouraged to vacate the system or be fired upon.
Federal CMDR's interested in peace, should focus on Volungu. The EIC has no interest in expansion into that system. We are only interested in defending Liaedin from Federal terrorists. Stay out of Liaedin if you wish for your insurance costs to remain low.

I like the RP but you're actually making the mistake I'm so happy ED in general is not: You're pretending something utterly insignificant like a skirmish in ONE system is a big deal and about to destroy the Federation when it's obviously not. Makes the whole thing feel fake to me, but as a loyal Federation soldier I'll still heed the call

Does the EIC now speak for the Emperor? An imperial faction has entered Volungu, from Liaedin, and started a war with a Federation faction. How else would you like to define expansion into that system?

To be honest I feel a bit stupid because this has apparently going on around me while I have been playing in Liaedin. It's so far only Imperial pilots that have interdicted me (based on either what they've asked me or the fact that they were flying Clippers) but so far most interactions have been very cordial.
There was one day that I got attacked without warning by two separate Clippers; that left me so angry that when I got interdicted by a third Clipper I opened fire angrily before a word had been said. As I did so, the pilot began to talk to me and I realised that something was going on - but as I'd opened fire he and his wing tore me limb from limb.
I felt very sheepish after that

Really? Because an I think a EIC member was shouting in public chat last night about how he was off to Volungu to kick Federal backside.
We do not speak for the Emperor. No one does. He is comatose. Kind of a problem that.
However, for the sake of trying to keep the current peace treaty that we have between several Federal factions and ourselves, in relation to peace in and around Liaeden, all EIC members have been instructed to focus on defending Liaeden. If they choose to fight in Volungu, they do so without the EIC's support. We do not speak for the Empire. We speak for the EIC's current corporate interests. Our interests involve keeping Liaeden an Imperial system, and we will destroy anyone who dares oppose our business interests. This ballyhou is getting in the way of our profits. We can't have that.

but thanks for the info, i think i'm going to help out the imps a little with this! they being able to expand and wreak havoc on the feds is great news! ideally, i'd love to see these two disgraces kill each other off!
Liaedin is an Imperial blight deep in Federation space and spreading, like a virus.
