Camera Suite Improvements: Update Notes

I don't know what more to do :') A known and certified release time/date is not something I would sit on going "hmmmmm we gonna make that lovely community wait. Even though I TOTALLY KNOW when it is...I'm just not gunna say a word MUAHAHAHAHAHHAHA" - Like I don't know what more to say :')

I appreciate your job enjoyment Sally. You might as well have fun rather than be miserable around this place. Keep teasing until 5 minutes before the server drops..... :love:
 
Well well no update 6 for today. What a surprise 😅😅. I guess the "later this week" and a "non thursday release" actually meant friday haha. Thank you fdev you guys are amazing 🤣🤣

I would love to see an increase of the max distance on planets.

I fly a Type-9 out in the black and it's hard to find the perfect angle to show ship and landscape if you can't get enough distance to your ship.

This might work with small ships, but 250m is too short for big ships. I'd love to see 350 or maybe even 400m.

I doubt we will see something about system map as you even ban all threads about it on issues tracker. Just an example: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/31754
The issue tracker is for reporting bugs, not submitting suggestions. I'm not entirely sure what you expected. The more the issue tracker is clogged up with incorrect and duplicate submissions, the harder it makes for QA to go through and log the actual bugs.

Great news, Sally! I love using the camera suite and taking screenshots - probably too many! It will be wonderful to see the end of the 'lost signal's when trying to find a decent angle. :love:

On the subject. Not sure how feasible it is but I would love it if the camera mode remembered the way it was when re-engaged. If I have setup a great view and I'm grabbing some shots but have to switch back to first person I'd really appreciate it if I didn't have to enter the camera, get back the base view angle, enter free camera, re-establish my position and angle blur and everything again.

Yeah I entirely do still hold ALL of the feedback on future suggestions and feedback close to heart so no worries. Thoughts like this are still very valid and welcome o7

Seeing this quite a bit now. Let's see how we go with the first round of opinions on the blackout improvements and then look at tweaks we might be able to do with distancing moving forwards :) Very valid.

I'm super happy with the changes so far. Can't wait to take even more shots.

I hope the HighRes screenshot tiling issues will get fixed in future patches too, so the camerasuit will become the perfect suit we all want 😁

Yes, it was said on the livestream on Tuesday it is scheduled for this week.

Hi Sally, not a problem related to this but...

We've got upcoming 4-player multicrew, and there's a major problem that I've not seen mentioned as awareness by the team. Hopefully they are aware and are working on it.

Currently, when you are in physical multicrew, and you die, you return to the last location you were non-multicrewed at (or to your ship location). This means if I get off my ship at Placeholder Orbital, join 3 other friends (We'll call them Jim, Jane, and Jeri), get on Jeri's ship and fly to Systemname A2, the following is a likely scenario:
Jim, Jane, Jeri and Dahak exit the ship. Jim is on foot, the rest are in SRVs. Jeri doesn't notice this fact and runs over Jim. Jim respawns... at Placeholder Orbital.
Jeri, Jane and Dahak head in SRVs to Convenient Groundholding. On arrival, Jane is hostile and gets hit by a rocket, destroying the SRV and killing Jane. Jane respawns at... Placeholder Orbital.
Jeri and Dahak go into the facility, kill everyone (they were scavengers, honest) and loot the power core. On the way out, Dahak gets hit by a dropped-in wave of scavengers and dies, although the SRV is fine. I respawn at... Plcaeholder Orbital.

If we could respawn at the last vehicle we exited that still exists instead, this would make physical multicrew a TON more fun! As it is, the post-death-transit issue means that it's not worth using multicrew for getting to ground content.

It's difficult to see how improving something is going back in this instance. Can't say the camera would be my top priority, but any improvement in the game is good in my book.

I'm happy if they can add some QOL stuff in the patches. ... I mean .. fixing the game as a whole is priority, but adding/improving small stuff makes the wait time much more bearable.
