Can Elite be played Bootcamped Mac Air?

I have a 2013 Mac Air with 4GB RAM and was wondering if anyone out there has had any luck running the Alpha via bootcamp with one of these.

I thought I saw a thread somewhere a while back where someone said they'd managed to do this.

If anyone did, how was the expierience? Any tips on setting this up? If I could get this to run whilst I save up my penny's for an awesome gaming rig that would be awesome.

I'm running a 2008 or so Mac Pro, I suspect your mac book air will be ok, though the airs do have weak graphics cards as I recall?

Yup it runs acceptably on my Air. It's not perfect, and the fan is constantly on, but it is good for a bit of lunchtime fun at work :) The only bad thing is there are only 2 USB ports :(

I haven't used it much since alpha 1 days, but I'll give it another go soon.

Greetings Commander Profster.

Yes, as Eid said some people have had success running E: D this way.
It would be great to hear your experience on that particular setup.

Cool, I will give it a whirl. I think the 2013 has a slightly beefier Graphics card than previous models, though obviously not when compared to proper games machine.

Asp Explorer - how did you find performance, did you have to ramp the quality down much to make it playable, did it begin to creek much when you got yourself into mega space battles?

For two USB's I'm thinking dongle for my X-box controller and love to get a Track IR up and running (though suspect that's a little hopefull).

Alternative I could go a little home brew like this guy did:

I was able to get 20-30fps according to fraps in the combat scenarios. I haven't tried multiplayer on it. I don't think I tuned any settings other than full screen, native res, and control selection.

I can confirm the 360 wireless controller worked well with it, and I "think" I got a ps4 controller on it too.

Hi Asp Explorer, I was wondering if you'd given pb or pb2 a whirl on you're Mac Air Yet? And if so how did it handle?
