Isn't this another QOL "we respect your time(tm)" Feature? Don't know for sure - but it suspiciously looks like one...

After all, a QOL feature doesn't have to be positive and technically still be a "QOL Feature" :D
This currently just happens to be a useless timesink and Exploration (FSS) flow breaker.

PS.
Yeah, obviously this needs to go. Systems with large amounts of Volcanism take ages to properly scan.
Otherwise you could easily miss that elusive "Raxxla [1]" notification lol

(Several of my wife's friends have asked her to make them one...... so far she's declined as I won't release the materials to her for the obvious oppression of my male friends)

* I nowadays NEVER use the phrase 'OK Dear I'll do that as soon as I get around to it!'.......... otherwise I'd be wearing the damned thing.:p

You should get her a toolbox for her birthday.

In her office at work my Mum used to have this sign;

"When the rush is over, and the panic has died down, I am going to have a vervous breakdown. I have worked for it, I have earned it, and NOBODY is stopping me from taking it!".

Was she a forum moderator as well?

I was going to post the very same, you don't have to sit and wait OP, you can scan the rest of the bodies and then just come back to see what's there, that way you lose nothing......except a reason to complain I guess.

Personally I think on FSS scan it should just tell us if there is bio and geo there and load the numbers when we are probulating the body and that would also take away your reason to complain, either would work I guess.

That's what I do, and it's a terrible solution. You have to remember which body to come back to, and you're likely to encounter progressively more and more bodies with the broken loading issue, to the point where as they pile up you will have to start keeping notes as you go, which again, is a terrible solution for something that should just be fixed in the first place.

It's much better to complain endlessly about it and hope that someday maybe somehow Frontier listen. I absolutely love the design of the new scanning system but the loading issue is so obnoxious it's put me off playing the game at all.

yeah but

1) if its the last body
2) if its still "scanning" (while you move onto the next body) the FSS judders & stutters until resolved (in the background) subsequent FSS scans with POIs create additional Lag and FPS nonsense
3) if you know "flupopridburg AB_Y-124da-1d-lilihammer- 15 ABCDE 4 A 4B" may contain POIs finding it again in the FSS isnt enthralling

many bug reports cover the FSS lag topic which the consensus believe to be caused by the "scanning" or resolving POIs on surfaces - which is why its so annoying and a good reason to complain, we shouldn't have to live with this sub par FSS

its like buying a new car without a steering wheel, but its OK because they just put a pair of mole grips on the shaft and it works fine;

no need to complain to the car garage you got it from, it does work after-all, a steering wheel would be better of course, but its just an excuse to complain i suppose.

i agree with your last point though we don't need to know the number of POIs just that they're there, anything to stop the 30 second scan to be honest.

Sometimes it doesn't show the planet information and I have to zoom in and out for them to show up. Waiting for the location count is pretty annoying sometimes, yeah.
