Can someone explain me the difference you see between xbox and PC comunities?

Right now the Xboxers are just thrilled that there is even a game like this for them to play. Still very new to them. Powerplay doesn't seem to be heavily played yet by them so I think in general they are still in that new car smell stage and simply haven't played long enough to become jaded. I saw a couple of complaints about not being able to keep exploration tags when they move to the main galaxy but that's about it. Otherwise they seem quite happy with what they have.

Considering the average age of xbone, do you really think this game is geared towards them?

The only thing bringing this heaping pile of a game to xbone, Mac,steam is basic greed. Steam makes sense, at least till refunds bit them in the ass. Mac/xbone and the downgrades to make this game run on sub par machines is unreal. You people need to stop defending this game.

+Rep to the OP
and welcome to this community - where I can read posts for maybe 20 minutes before I get so annoyed that I have to go fly a space ship. . . .

As a Kickstarting, BetaBacking, PC Flying Pilot I say that there are many that don't care about the differences -
if you're flying an Amiga or an Atari - you're welcome.
What's a console?

My only worries are that you might scratch my new Paint Job
And that I might die of old age before Planetary Landings arrive. (not figuratively - literally)

Mark My Words you young whipper-snappers - we're all going to have a brilliant time with CQC :D !!

You are right on that, but let me tell you, I highly doubt that the existence of CQC will mark a difference to console sells, damn, I've been hoping for an Space-Sim kind of game coming to xbox since I have an Xbox, I don't care about the CQC (although I like the idea of fighting inside stations and stuff), and many, many people are in the same condition.

I also doubt CQC will sell more xbone copies than would have been sold without it, but I don't doubt that the console market was the impetus for CQC. I don't happen to own one of the new consoles yet (upgraded my PC instead) but if I did I would certainly want something ED-like for it. I'm thinking No Man's Sky looks particularly well suited to gamepad play.

I was trying to use some sarcasm, but hey I'm no native english speaker so I may have written it the wrong way.

I don't think you wrote it the wrong way. You called PC users snobs and accused them of hissy fits, but you included yourself in that group and indicated these were qualities that you yourself have. I think you might have nudged someone's sore underbelly.

The Close Quarters Combat, abbreviated as CQC, is an upcoming update in Elite: Dangerous that brings a separate mode from Open Play and Solo that consists of several competitive modes including 12 player Free-For-All, 4v4 Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. The player will be able to fly the Sidewinder, Eagle and F63 Condor, unlock modules, weapons and abilities.

Oh dear god help us - here was I thinking it was a FPS but this?? This is even worse!

Then I explained myself wrong, I was refferring exactly to those who actually post the way I was criticing, it was not meant to offend anyone. Also I should say, I remember seeing a post made by an xbox user saying the kind of things I was talking about, so it's not just for the PC users, but you're right sir, I may have raged a bit.

That is not true, it seems like you have no idea about the Xbox comunity, I can tell you, age of the gamer has no importance, the only difference with PC is that in PC you get most quantity of mature players, in Xbox, it's easier for less mature players to play, but those who are mature are still there.

Trust me, ever since the launch of the preview of Elite in Xbox, my friend list with over 150 people has a majority playing Elite, and I can asure you that is not because of the PvP

Stereotypes are no good, try not to use them

PC player but also PS4 owner. If I had XB1 I would have bought a second copy for that. CQC offers an instant game experience and an easy way to join up with your friends in the living room. When our kids have friends round they play FIFA, they do not play PC. Why? Simply the console is ready made for a quick (or maybe longer) session of group gaming. That's why CQC is well suited for console. To be honest I am really impressed with what they have squeezed into the PS4.

So, please, explain me, what is that horrible thing that makes Xbox players worse, and why should both versions receive different content? And don't bring the disscussion about CQC here, that's already been argued hundreds of times and we all agree that it should have been released at the same time in PC and Xbox (except that would actually delay the PC update).

Not so much to do with 'elitism' of PC versus console, but the primary reason I can see for minor content differences is the nature of the controllers used. PCs/Macs have access to keyboard, mouse and HOTAS - all of which can be used to underpin a rich simulation experience for those of us who like playing with buttons, which must be streamlined and contextualised for console controllers.

My underbelly is not sore or raw - I clearly apologized for taking a swing at the easy hit along with admitting it was my bad.
I now give you both +Rep for calling me out on my poor form.

Thanks

Mi tink it can be fairly an accuractley summarised tru dis handy infographic:

IMHO the root of the PC vs. Consoles problem/rivality not only in ED, but also in other games (Skyrim is nice example) is quite simple. The developpers are intentionally crippling games (poor graphics, lousy UIs, poor AI etc.) because they want to sell them for consoles with those incredibly limited controllers and graphic/memory/CPU.

I mentioned Skyrim as a nice example. Game itself is excellent, but the whole UI in original game is a mess just because Bethesda wanted to have this game for consoles too. It took more than one year until better UI was written by some modders.

In broader sense, the consoles are a plaque, because they are conserving certain hardware state for years and devs need to limit the games for the legacy console hardware. So, the whole CPU/GPU industry does not need to inovate and bring better hardware for PC. This can be clearly seen during let's say 2008 - 2014, when PS3 and Xbox 360 (?) more or less conserved the hardware requirements and games from 2014 was playable on PCs from 2007/8. Without this console stagnation, PC gaming hardware is today six of seven years in the future with far better games and things like realtime raytracing/radiosity are reality now on graphic cards with 20.000 - 50.000 GPU units.

This video always seem appropriate on these kinds of threads

These PC gamers being different to Xbox gamers threads and discussions always amuse me. I own both and enjoy gaming on both. The only differences for me being that i play simulation and strategy games on my PC. Whilst my xbox i play sports FPS and games like Fallout and the Witcher.

I'd gladly play simulation and strategy games on Xbox, sadly those are very few in consoles.

It wasn't a slip of the tongue. It was a post-hoc justification for the CQC release being on XBox first. Do I believe it? Not in the slightest. Whilst I do think that it is probably that CQC will go down better in the XBox community than the PC community, I don't believe that was the reason. I believe the real reason was the deal with Microsoft. And I have no problem with that, if it helped the folding green things to flow.

I kind of assumed a MS deal was the reason FDev said they'd have extra content for the XBOne when they announced they were making a console version. I initially thought the content might be a tutorial to get the consolers up to speed. Even though I do agree that the PVP arena mode makes sense as it hones the fighting ability of players before they set out into the Galaxy, I feel a little tinge of doubt. The developers keep on banging on about how they don't need to dumb down the game for the consolers. It sounds a little like they're trying to convince themselves.
