Can you live by a No-Kill Code?

Noticed this yesterday, can anyone elaborate/corrobarate?

Going back from Fehu with some data/courier missions to up my Empire Ranking and had the usual "you are going to die!" message at every single star and noticed that Fuel Scooping tended to result in no-interdictions.

Is this something to do with dipping around the star (whilst scooping) and there-by putting the potential interdictor behind a sun and you?

Turned out to be a fun, relatively stress free way of making lots of cash and increasing rep - journey to the station(s) is hairy though.

(One of the potential attackers was "Jimi Hendrix" - he's one of the last people I'd expect to get angry in a spacecraft!)

Has never made much sense to me, why do stations say 'Please remember, loitering is a crime, punishable by death' The Bulk of NPC's mention death when they are about to be destroyed - or threaten to kill when they are attacking you.

Even the authority ships say 'see you in hell'..

I think of it as Commanders being like Danny DeVito in Taxi. The poor guy in the ship is dead when the ship blows up and we (sitting in our control rooms) just send another poor sod into the replacement ship, more concerned about the insurance cost as we sign the standard letter we send to the dead pilots family.

A good Commander protects his pilots.

Won't somebody think of the pilots [big grin]

In 2.1 the pacifist code seems to have been vindicated :)

Especially during the pre-bug weekend - saw no difference (less griefing if anything).

2.1 tips for pacifist's - select systems on your filter list along with stations and hyper to them if your shields go down to the red/they don't give up, then go straight back to whence you came as they won't be there.

Buy point defence - it's a passive aggressive weapon.

Post 2.1 it has got wonderfully easy for us pacifists.

Right hand panel, systems and stations.

If you get inter-ed, just submit, boost for a few secs and hyperspace to the closest system.

When you go back to whence you came they will not be there!

Lovely stuff :)

I actually tried this for most of April, fitted in with trying to play iron man mode. It was surprisingly harder than I thought. Ended up going exploring. Note I did not count er skimmers as as they are remote operated drones - so fair game. Commander dies Mostly Harmess from Skimmer kills and I reset the save. It was a different experience that is for sure.

In 2.0 it was doable, but self discipline is the name of the game. I am not good enough with fixed to take the drives or plant out of an Eagle, actually in the stock sidewinder, I used to be quite chuffed hitting Eagles (think pre-default-to gimbles).

In 2.1 I think I would work the mission system (lots of go fetch or find) to get to a Cobra as quickly as possible, given my inability to aim well- At least that way, speed is my friend and the smaller ships that can turn cannot mass lock me. Anything larger (thinking of the Asps I have seen) I can boost over and chaff and by the time they have turned I should be out of mass lock range. Can always high wake as a last resort or against Vultures and other ships that mass lock a Cobra.

Your code is weak. Cleansing purifies the genetic system and through it we can satisfy the need for the strong to survive. Tonight I had a CMDR shoot at me, when all I was doing was scanning his hold. He had nothing in it and I told him he was free to go and what did he do? He had the arrogant stupidity to shoot at me! So I did what only could be done with him, I blew him to pieces and reminded him it is impolite to shoot other CMDRs when they are doing public service work. He died with a whimper, his loss was forgotten quickly in the system but I have not forgotten him--I carved a notch on my console--the part I reserve for the fools and idiots to remind me that mankind is barely better than the common apes that forage in the woods. Such savagery can only be met with hellfire and by purging them, they will not hurt again.

So keep your weapons armed, your ammo stocked, and pull that trigger when you have to. It is a dangerous place out there--you might as well make it hospitable for yourself while you can.
