Canids I'd Welcome to the Game

Totally agree. I don't think we need more canids, we definitely have more important missing species but if then I'd choose these four, too.
They look cool
For some reason, with this new DLC I am more content with the canids we already have in game...
I'd still like color morphs though.

- African Wild Dog: Piebaldism, Melanism and More Yellow
- Arctic Fox: Piebaldism to look like their summer coat.
- Arctic Wolf: At least a light grey
- Dhole: Definitely piebald and if Frontier's feeling adventurous? a melanistic form (has been mentioned in the literature)
- Dingo: Piebald, Black and Tan, leucistic
- Fennec Fox: doesn't occur irl but I think one (maybe leucism) would be nice. Another possibility is way more silvery hairs so that it resembles it closest relative the Blanford's Fox.
- Maned Wolf: Melanism
- Red Fox: Pretty good
- Timber Wolf: Leucism for sure!
Canids are my favorite animal group, so I would never be disappointed by additional ones. But from a more objective point of view I can understand why many people wouldn't want more - I feel that way about cats.
That said, the Bat Eared Fox and Black Backed Jackal are pretty high up on my wants. The Coyote is mid-level want for me, and the Raccoon Dog and Golden Jackal are also in my want list, thought at the lower part of it. But I don't think we're going to get any more, or if we did it would be just one more, though I'm not sure what.

This could very well be our first year without canids honestly, but I'd still like more. I don't think any absolutely essential ones are left but there is still two species I really want to see:
- Raccon Dog (Cute and fluffy, would be good for Japanese or just general East Asian areas and these are really common in smaller zoos)
- Bat-Eared Fox (Evolutionary distinct from other foxes, would give African savannas a smaller canid since the Fennec can't be used here really, also a pretty iconic zoo animal to me personally

Still I agree that parts of Africa south of the desert could use a smaller canid. There are nearly a dozen canids in Africa... We have ~1/4 of them which isn't too bad until you consider that out of the 11 Africa Geographic recognizes: 7 occur south of the Sahara. The only one of the seven we have in-game is the Wild Dog. Only 4 occur strictly in the North and we have 2 of them the Red and Fennec Foxes. So, I think its a little skewed towards the Saharan Canids right now. I can't speak for all Dog lovers but I would appreciate a more southern African canid be a bat-eared fox (preferable in my opinion haha) or a type of jackal (to me Ethiopian wolf counts as a jackal).

Those are definitely needed. I will also keep a free Enclosure for them when I restart my japanese Zoo in another Place because I don't give up the Hope that we'll still get them
If we're just talking about this year alone, I think it's extremely possible we won't have a canid in the next pack. We don't know what the theme will be, but likely something colder weather and I can't think of any likely canids for either a highlands/taiga or tundra. Even if it weren't a highlands or tundra pack, the other big theme talked about was islands, and I think that's pretty unlikely given the Oceania pack has several island species. That means likely no Racoon Dog, at least for this year.
I wish one of the ungulates in the Arid pack had been changed to the Golden Jackal, but it is what it is.
This should have been the Sand Cat.
I would too except that now that its after the fact I do adore all the ungulates! Even the Dama Gazelle is a good addition to the game. and I can promise as much as I want an African Canid someone else wanted the Dama Gazelle.
Yeah, I feel like we have enough for the time being.

I'd happily welcome:
- Domestic dogs that can be companion animals (especially for cheetahs...)!
- Bat-eared fox
- Black-backed jackal
- Ethiopian wolf (the ZT2 nostalgia is real)
- Island fox
- Tanuki
- Tibetan fox
- Bush dog
Although pets weren't allowed in zoos (correct?), were there zoos that housed domestic cats and domestic dogs?
