canopy shutter: optional internal / modded life support variant

Inspired by how the windows work in star wars. When your canopy breaks, a steal shutter automatically slams down, closing off the window, preventing oxygen from exiting the cockpit. The shutter would impair your vision, but maintain your HUD allowing you to still see the leads and triangle outline of your target. I believe this would add an interesting game mechanic, as it would force someone who has lost their canopy to rely completely on their sensors and provide an advantage to stealth ships that try to maintain sensor invisibility. It would also be extremely useful for long distance explorers that might have gotten too close to a neutron star and broke their canopy 15000ly from civilized space. The shutter could also be toggled, either by hot key or functions panel to re-open the window causing your life support to drain once more but restoring your vision. This could be implemented as an engineer specific life support module, or as a optional internal.

would be a brilliant idea as it make sense and would add a new level of difficulty to the game as flying on sensors alone would be something new and difficult, it would also help with thargoid battles as their shield breach attacks are annoying when the breach the canopy. One question tho, would the shutter be able to be targeted and destroyed as well after the canopy is breached

Is there really need? You can synthesise life support refill now.
If you're an explorer neutron boosting then you have an afmu that can repair the canopy before it gets too bad so a broken canopy is unlikely.

Also it should be noted that a shattered canopy provides no heads up display holograms in the shattered blown out sections. It cuts off when somthing drifts into the open sections.

So if you had a shutter, you would be blind and unable to navigate, and CERTAINLY unable to continue fighting.
