It said that game requires an update and asked me to verify files...We'll see.Working again. I 'checked for game updates', but it's probably coincidental.
Thanks, didn't have to. It re-downloaded one file (as it said) and the launcher is now offering PLAYYianniv - I had the same, a machine log out and log in (under options in ED launcher) fixed it
Can't launch the game either, I bought via Steam last friday and no luck so far, I followed the instructions on the tech support, reinstalled the game and launcher and checked my pc for missing updates on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit but no luck. I must say that mi rig is almost 6 years old, graphic card and processor may lack the power to launch game? my mistake with an underpower PC for ED ?? Thanks
When I click on the ED icon on my desktop it opens the Elite Dangerous Steam window NOT the game, the window just remains as it is, also I tried clicking directly from the ED folder launch icon but it asks me for a code which I get on my email but as soon as I put on the window it tells me that I have to purchase the game, I don't understand what is going on. I bought the game from Steam ... I'm begining to regret buying this, any suggestions? ThanksNeed some more details, when you say you can't launch the game do you have the option to click the 'play' button on the Elite Dangerous start screen? Or have you clicked the play button and the game is not launching? As these would be totally different problems.
Yes I have registered accounts in Steam, Frontier and ED oficial website, but when using Steam game launcher it uses its own account, I do not know if both account are linked through Steam or viceversa. I've read in other posts that installing the game in another folder instead of the default Steam may solve the problem, another issue I may have is that I have a poor bandwith only 10mb with standard line not fibre optics, but I did play other games in the past and there was no issue. My last step if does't work is to contact Frontier and let them give me a solution. Thanks for your help, very appreciated S-P.Ok, did you setup an account with frontier developments? I'm pretty sure you need one to play the game. I've got ED on Steam and through FD so I'm not sure but if you haven't got one that may be the problem. You can also get this problem if there is a server issue.
I've been doing some research and it turns out that what I purchased from Steam is the ED none-key version, the problem is from the Steam launcher itself. I already contacted them by reporting the issue and now waiting for their reply. In the other hand if I use the ED launcher directly it asks for a code key which Steam did not provide when the purchase was made. So the problem is directly from Steam, I'll be keeping update so if anyone else has the same problem can solve it. Thanks for your time and help, all appreciated, hope to solve it soon, happy flying guys. Then you need to put in a ticket with support, stating all the steps you have tried and wait for them to provide a new solution to your problem. Hope you get it sorted ED is an excellent game!
