This would also appease more people. I'm not a hooner, but I have a variety of other reasons I currently prefer Horizons to Odyssey. Each group (hooners, VRers, old hardwarers, "get your fancy new iPhone UI off my lawn!"ers, etc) alone is a small minority, but combined, we might just represent enough players for Frontier to mirror what they are doing on console and leave Horizons as-is.

Has anyone tried using large ships for racing in the new Odyssey Canyons? Seems like that could work, and be an appropriate Challenge, and some fun. Cutter races!

It would work, in the same way that driving a Scania truck around highway junctions would work as replacement for driving a Suzuki Escudo up Pikes Peak. As in, it would not work.

I came back to this thread to post something similar to this. My thought was to have an exploration CG to try to find a suitable hooning planet for canyon racers with a nice prize for the one (Cobra MK IV SE?) who finds it and with a credit tier for exploration data with other rewards as normal. This could give the community a chance to show Frontier that it's an important part and if it fails to find a suitable planet but reaches x amount of exploration data sold, then a CG like what you suggest to create one. It could be pretty cool actually to see a positive way to resolve this ingame. Worth reaching out to the CMs for?

Spent the last 2 days looking and found what I think is a promising one. The planet has several large patches of this kind of terrain, given some time one might find a patch large enough to keep busy in.
