It's the patronization. She wants to be a champion for her ego, not to make a difference. It's a popularity contest. It's patronizing and paper thin. That's the issue. I was raised by single mother and a sister six years older than me. I was raised on moderate values of respect. You don't separate respect for women from respect for men. You respect PEOPLE. We all knew this in the 80s but people desperate to be relevent need to keep shoving it down your throat and instead of going after the actual misogynists they pick on low hanging fruit, meek men who are already taught to feel guilty, like cowards. If she rolled up her sleeves and stopped hypocritically hiding behind her own privilege while condemning others for their privilege she wouldn't be such a disgusting PERSON. Her gender is irrelevent, she just wants to put herself on a pedastal.
Also, the trailers are trying to hit you over the head that she's the strongest and the fastest, like "take that, men" as if we give two squirts if a woman is stronger than us, as if it's revolutionary. So she shoots herself in the foot, pleading that "women are strong too" as if we didn't already know that, for years.
Also, when you talk about women's wages being lower, we're talking about the privileged upper class. Everyone I know gets the same pay for the same job, male or female and it's been that way for 30 years.
An example of privilege at it's finest, trying to condemn others' privilege.
I'm tired of feeling guilty for all that native land I stole, all those irish I drove out of new york, all those women I keep chained in the kitchen, all the oppression I hold people down with. This is why I don't socialize. People are desperate hypocrites looking for a stepping stone for their little popularity contest. Can't have meaningful conversations without trendy crap obscuring a point.
Has nothing to do with men or women, just whiny, scummy people trying to force themselves into relevance at the expense of the most convenient target. People fall for image and don't even care about integrity anymore.
It's under the guise of men vs women because it's a convenient soap box.
People want to matter but they don't and they can't get over that existential crisis.
