Roller Coasters Carowinds Fury 325 (Recreation)

^^No need to redo something that I spent 6 hours getting as accurate as possible...

Here is a short clip I posted a while back where I had a tracing of the blueprints and layered it over my monitor. then built and smoothed the hill and drop under it. It took way too long, but it's near perfect.
Trust me, the drop is almost as perfect as you can get it.

Oh, i didnt know that. Then it must be the FOV of Planet Coaster or the angle of the pictures that make me think its not perfect :)

This is really impressive stuff.
Can't imagine how much time you already have invested for all those details.
Anyway i hope you will finish this project, already have seen a lot of great work from people that finally never came to an end.
So keep going! [up]

I don't have any updates to this project right now.
Mainly just I'd hate to work a lot on it and the coaster builder get changed and/or the current restrictions get removed. Then I'd have to re make the entire thing... again... for a third time.

So with the new release of the scenario editor coming out soon. I've decided that I might try and build Carowinds as a whole park. Also, my current build of Fury 325 will more than likely be abandoned to a slight degree. There are too many minor mistakes that I want to correct so at some point I promise I will get back to work on this build.

Yes! Go for it. It looks like we can finally extend the park boundaries out even further (up to the end of the voxel terrain). I can finally finish my Six Flags Worlds of Adventure recreation. Let's go and achieve 0.25 fps with 30,000 screaming guests!

I'm making use of the 32m billboards (199 in total here) for better accuracy. Everything is now scaled almost 100% correctly now. However, my previous Fury 325 build is being abandoned almost entirely except for a few scenery pieces.

Using the billboards that way is such a cool idea. Were there any special tools you used to convert the source images into all those billboards and lay them out, or was it all done by hand? Where did you get the original image from? What was the scale needed to convert the images into the correct size for PC?

Here's what I had to do. And no tools were used. This was all done by hand using Paint 3D (IF you have Adobe Illustrator, please use that, it's much much faster)

1) I laid out some track for the coaster
2) I placed a 32 m lit billboard beneath it then took a screenshot of it.
3) I then went into Microsoft Paint 3D and I used the track to measure how wide the billboard is. (22.5 track widths long by 12.5 track widths wide)
4) Then I used my Blueprints and Satellite overlay of Fury 325 (I cannot release those to anyone), and I made a rectangle that's the correct size.
5) Then I copied this rectangle (red outline) across the entire overlay.
6) Then I cut out each rectangle individually, numbered the, and saved them as single images.

It look literally an entire night to do this.

Then I laid out the billboards and added their respective images.

That is some serious dedication. [shocked]
Still a really great idea and something I want to try on my next project. Just not on that scale. [haha]

UPDATE on Fury 325. Lift hill is now completed.
