J.J did a better job than Lucas on the prequels .. And who doesn't like excessive bloom effects?

Actually, if someone has the patience, make BBC Planet Earth-like episodes with exploration footage. Nebulas. Black Holes. Asteroids. etc.

I have a solution:
Preset:
First we need a very very good writer. Without a good lovecraftian horror-scifi story that is plausible and interesting plot it wont lift off. Game of Thrones in space? Winter is coming. Or plain hero adventure movie with universal twist.
Then each of us gets a scene and we just try to construct it with our in game cameras. I know we lack space legs but once we have a fast draft, it can be pitched to Hollywood.
I do not know if you realized this yourself, but that is actually brilliant!

I picked him as an no-nonsense Commander, but really it depends on what kind of Commander we want at the start of the movie. Is he (she?) some inexperienced Mostly-Harmless kid, who was left some Sidewinder by his late uncle? Or an more experienced, Expert/Deadly warrior with an Engineered Python?
Heck, they don't have to be some combat-focused Commander, they could be some rare-trader or miner or explorer, who gets sucked kicking and screaming into some adventure. Popcorn not included.
*But I'd love to see Jason Statham as an miner, outwitting a wing of FDLs in his mining T6
