[CCN] The Christmas Carriers Convoy

Guys, this is not a race to get to Colonia, so doing the frantic 50 jumps per hour will burn you out and take all the fun out of it. The convoy has a seriously low pace so anyone can join it even if they only play an hour per day and have a 15ly jump range. People that get to the milestones faster can explore the areas or keep the system safe for the rest that is coming through.

So you actually have plenty of time to look at those shinies along the way and not jonk like a madman :) My record is 14k ly in one day (±42ly average jumps) and I am never doing that again ever!

Also don't forget some people will need help along the way, someone is bound to not scoop in time and jump into the wrong system :) I noticed the last few days that even filtering on KGBFOAM is not a guarantee you will not get a star that is not scoopable anyway.

On a personal note; I just bought an Anaconda named `USS Money Pit` and will try to outfit it in time and see if I will bring that instead of my Python. I am planning to have 2xSRV, Fighter, Fuel limpets, mining laser, collector limpets, AFMS, huge scoop... so basically a huge support vessel. I'll update here if that is the case.

I wanted to ask: Are there enough modules available in Colonia? If there is any particular module lacking I would like to buy and store a few so I can transfer them to Jacques upon arrival.

Cheers!

It basically only has D and E rated modules. The mining modules are mostly up to A rating though.

So bring everything you need lol, possibly store some modules in the bubble to transport out once you arrive.

As stated already, the convoy is not a race. My T-9 with grade 5 FSD range boost gets 20Ly fully laden. I believe the average jump range to be between 17-23 Lys. We have some corvettes and gunships flying with us and the gunship outfitted for combat is pulling around 17 Lys.

Alrighty, so CMDR DjinxHawaii slightly doesn't exist nor the ship I signed up with because of dosh problems, so I did a double fourm, so on the roster, number 42 and 407 are both me, so could either Djinx be updated and danger noodle be deleted, or danger noodle left alone and Djinx deleted? I think that was slightly legible? :I

Role change for me from Freelancer to Stratotanker. Thanks.

@Qohen: Could you please change #410 Flirble Rasok from US to EU. Tia.

Yay on the roster :)
Scrambling to acquaint CMDR Flirble Rasok with as many significant Engineers as possible to buff Serenity. And store juicy modules for later retrieval when in Colonia.

I'm requesting a name change. The CMDR name for #134 is, in reality, "SHEER LUCK".

Tell me if you need anything else.

I want to change my ship from conda to python #98

Hey there; I don't think I'm going to be able to devote the time and energy to this I'm afraid; please remove CMDR Titler from the list, sorry. Good luck to all of those still going!

Done.

Since a lot of people apparently just received the Newsletter, Registrations are extended to TOMORROW NOV. 30th, 20:00 IGT.

Change of ship attending the CCC

Wasn't able to get Senan Torr (attendee #409) into an Anaconda in time for the CCC. I'll be bringing an engineered Keelback instead. 2 class 2 beams, 2 class 1 multi-cannons, a Tiapan Fighter bay, SRV bay. Role remains Malitia Escort.

Hello guys, I have a few questions about the event (I signed up as a carrier, I'll fly a Beluga). Sorry if some are faqs : I read the initial post but I might have missed something. I also read the first pages of this thread but it is so big now that I couldn't keep up.

- Will we get 30 days transport missions or is that out of the table ?
- If there are no passengers missions, am I allowed to take slaves who will get a new life at Colonia ?
- If it is a bad idea, should I just fill my liner with cargo racks full of the commodities recommended ?
- Am I supposed to post pictures of my build / cargo somewhere ? (and if yes, where ?)
- I filled the form to enlist and Qohen Leth welcomed me on the thread. Is that enough or is there something else I have to do ?
- Where can I check the roster to see if I'm in the list ?
- The main reason I joined the CCN is to play in wings and meet new pilots : is there something I should do about that, or hanging in the discord channel will be enough ?

Thanks in advance guys :)

Don't worry, you're not the only one. Come over to the ccc discord channel(s) if you want real-time (mostly) answers to your questions (see the link in the first post).

Unknown so far, FD have not made anything public.

- If there are no passengers missions, am I allowed to take slaves who will get a new life at Colonia ?
Only thing prohibited so far are UAs, UPs and similar objects which are known to negatively influence stations. We only have ons station out there, so let's keep it healthy. Escorts will have scanners and are authroized to shoot UA/UP/... carriers on sight.

- If it is a bad idea, should I just fill my liner with cargo racks full of the commodities recommended ?
That's the easiest possibility, yes.

- Am I supposed to post pictures of my build / cargo somewhere ? (and if yes, where ?)
No necessarily. Escorts will scan you when you're coming in, so any statistics desired by the people in charge can be taken care of there. So far, there's no indication that anyone will care about that, though.

- I filled the form to enlist and Qohen Leth welcomed me on the thread. Is that enough or is there something else I have to do ?

Read the launch procedures and stick to them. It'll be difficult enough to get all of us organized even if everyone sticks to the rules. And there will be several CMDRs in each instance who won't know either what or how to do it.

- Where can I check the roster to see if I'm in the list ?
There's a list in the first post. "The Roster", behind a spoiler tag.

- The main reason I joined the CCN is to play in wings and meet new pilots : is there something I should do about that, or hanging in the discord channel will be enough ?

Hanging around will be enough, sending/accepting friend requests will increase the chances of being instanced with the same people. You did apply (and were invited) to the Fleetcomm group? If you haven't done that yet, see again first post.

Thanks in advance guys :)

You're welcome.

Thank you so much for taking the time to address all my questions Ashnak. I'll connect to the discord server tomorrow :)
+rep for a *very* informative post :)

OK, Commanders, not sure if I will keep up but I want to be a part of it. I am thrilled by the thought of this trip. I will fit out a T-9 Tanker (CSS Tough Cookie) as Stratotanker with 400t of fuel and limpets to give anyone a hand who needs it. My jump range will not be large (10-12Ly) but I will try to keep up. Please sign me up in the roster.
I will do regular stops at "scoopable" stars to refuel my tanks. I will start in the US timezone.

Looking forward to see you out there, commanders, and I will be happy to give anyone a hand with fuel who needs it.

And to CCN: Let me know if my T-9 should be a tanker or hauler. I will fit it according the need for the trip.

Fly safe!

My ship is ready. :)

Freelancing FTW :)

Uh, I missed that. So much good info. Sigh, how could I.

Never missing a bounty hunter creeping up on me but the registration form. Sigh!

I know from this thread that 20-25ly is a comfortable jump range for the journey. But I'm now wondering about jump endurance. Is it a good idea to shoot for a minimum range between refuels in case of regions of non-scoopables, or is the path rich enough in KGBFOAM that it's fine to carry just the core fuel tank?

I don't want to end up with some poor Stratotanker having to use half their limpets on my gas guzzler for want of an axillary tank that I would only have to give up 5-10% of my cargo capacity for.
