CG predictions...

Back on that Alliance megaship in Coalsack Nebula...

... I guess we will have an AX CG there... something related to Klaxians perhaps.

I had a quick look around earlier - I don't see any more Alliance m/s. Could end up like WH with competing starport CGs from the superpowers, or AX combat (though I don't think there are any NHSS around, which is a bit incongruous).

I expect a Galnet one day soon to announce what the Alliance are doing out there - that may clear things up.

Predicting this week's CGs is somewhat easier.

Oh oh...

TERRORISM SPREADS AS SUPERPOWER CONFLICTS INCREASE
Neo-Marlinist extremists are continuing their campaign of terror, while the Empire and Federation clash over issues caused by Marlinist refugees.
The Imperial Herald has featured updates on terrorist activity across the Empire:
“The NMLA has claimed responsibility for over fifty bomb attacks during the last three weeks. These mostly targeted local authority buildings and security forces, killing hundreds. Hit squads have also assassinated several high-profile individuals connected to the Duvals, including the Emperor’s relative Baron Cesare Lavigny.”
“Senior IISS leaders have admitted to being unprepared for how organised and well-equipped the paramilitary group is. Critics suggest that the mass arrest of Marlinists may have radicalised many people who were already sympathetic to the republican ideology.”
The Federal Times has focused on the tensions between superpowers:
“With diplomatic channels closing down, the possibility that the confrontation in LTT 1935 might escalate into all-out war cannot be ignored. There is added pressure from the exodus of millions of Marlinists, whose beliefs align with the Federation’s democratic principles.”
“President Hudson is still suffering from reduced congressional support, and many have said that it feels like Felicia Winters is running the show. But although her humanitarian efforts undoubtedly saved many refugees’ lives, the acceptance of Imperial outcasts into Federal society remains in question.”

But I thought the NMLA were in LTT 1935?

I dare to make a rather bold prediction: When the Empire is declared the loser of this CG (lets face it: no use of an 'if' here) the Strength Of Purpose gets destroyed by an NMLA caustic bomb, putting severe political pressure onto the Federation.

What I'd like to see is IISS be proved right (again) and the caustic weapons get turned on Fed stations by their own terrorists (I dunno, the Judean Peoples Front or whoever) at which point they all start wishing that someone had taken care of this earlier...

Well, the crashed 'conda with the Thargoid sensor basically proves already that the IISS is right, doesn't it? ;)

But yeah, any result that makes those who are supporting the Feds every time in a combat CG against the Empire look like fools would be welcome. :ROFLMAO:

Needs more twists and surprises.
It's time the Alliance got dragged into this and get a good kicking.

Out of curiosity: How close do you need to be to a crashed ship that's a tip-off location for it to show up on your left-hand panel?

This seems to be somewhat inconsistent - sometimes I can see them from the other side of the system, other times I have to be pretty close to the planet. I haven't noticed a pattern based on whether I've already mapped the planet or not.

The population & allegiance was recorded nearly a day ago - when the alliance m/s was found there

Hmm, then it was yesterday's tick or cache shenanigans. When you posted the screenshot of the megaship, I checked the galmap and it was still showing as a non-controlled system with 0 population.

Edit - Checking ROSS, there's been quite a few journal updates cycling between none/0 pop and alliance/2,000 pop so looks to be cache shenanigans.
