CG predictions...

Nah, why hasn't he/she/it already? Where has this new savior been all these past weeks?

Salvation is a pretty religious title. Something a cultist might use. And what would salvation look like according to the Far God cult? Exactly, everybody getting killed by Thargoids.

Subject D-2 had an existential crisis and ended up joining the cult. Her brief "connection" with the Thargoids during the tests also contributed to her being sympathetic towards them. She hijacked Aegis' megaship with all those Guardian artefacts to attract the Thargoids. This was possible because as a result of the experiments she was part of, she is able to enter witchspace.

She orchestrated the "prediction" in Cornsar and had one more trick up her sleeves. Due to her unique situation, she knew how to disable the Thargoid drives. That's why all those Interceptors crashed in Cornsar. I assume the Thargoids have since fixed that issue and it was a one trick pony.

But her plan has worked. Most of humanity apparently now trust "Salvation". The Thargoids are enraged, Aegis is out of the picture. Subject D-2 has been wronged immensely by the world, now it's time for payback. A motivation not uncommon amongst Far God cultist. Looks like they might get their "salvation" after all.

Please ignore the holes in my theory.
Then why did Salvation ask the gullible fools pilots to smuggle dodgy stuff in packets of paracetamol?

Sirius was about to sign a treaty that would drastically increase funding for AEGIS, and Salvation didn't want that. So he gave Thargoid technology and a dark-comms network to the NMLA and they put a stop to that.
I don't think the timing works out for that - the NMLA had and were using that technology (and some very good inside knowledge of Imperial security arrangements) almost six months before Sirius and Mahon were trying to get AEGIS more funding. The peace conference was only suggested by Antal and poached by Sirius because of the increasing Imperial-Federal tensions caused by Patreus' attempts to suppress the NMLA in the first place.

Question is, what was the Bright Sentinel up to in Merope for three weeks? It showed up with the start of the Thargoid attacks, then left again and the attacks continue to intensify. Dropping off more bait, perhaps? Or attempting to use the superweapon again and having it fail this time, which is why Salvation is being uncharacteristically quiet right now?

Hypothesis Alpha;
Salvation is a Guardian AI and the 'superweapon' was a swarm of robot ships.
These may need time and/or resources to redeploy and rearm before another strike.
I think we would've noticed a swarm of alien ships shoot down the Thargoids en masse. The impression I get from Galnet is that the media doesn't know what happened, just that all of a sudden a bunch of their ships crashed and the rest scrambled to retreat.

And if Salvation is allowed to fire again, what will the Thargoids do? If AXI can't cope now, imagine the Thargoids appearing in the bubble as well, or Colonia.

In truth I've been expecting the Thargoids to pay a visit to Colonia long ago already. The first 5 outposts between the bubble and Colonia were a breadcrumb trail to follow. The 3 additional stations were a small road, 56 megaships are an illuminated highway lead.

They probably don't care, they only want us out of Thargoid and Guardian territory.

No Galnet today? 😕
With NMLA & Colonia Bridge out of the way.. guess this CG will be about Thargoids or Salvation, then?
They've been suuuper quiet lately, maybe we have to go and help on the last step of that superweapon production.

Oh, just went there yesterday to check; thanks for the info! Maybe we have to load it with shiny toys or something before it jumps to Maia?

Scriveners and OU both gone from Oochost PC-C c29-0 - not sure if that was this week 🤔 Should have really checked if the OU had a flight plan, ah well 🤷‍♀️

That is a shame, I was hoping that the CG was a new development on this.

Perhaps ask the pilots to repeatedly ram the back of the dredger to make it move, or something like that.

I hope we are at least getting a Galnet follow up article on this.

BATTLE OF MUDHRID ENDS IN NMLA DEFEAT

02 DEC 3307
Pilots’ Federation ALERT
The Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid has been defeated by the Epsilon Fornacis Empire Group in the Mudhrid system.
With the aid of many independent pilots, the Imperial faction outmatched the NMLA-supporting forces who were attempting to rescue their leader Theta Seven.
Captain Saskia Landau provided an update from ACT:
“Using the fierce fighting as cover, Captain Milo Castile led a commando unit made up of specialists from Alliance, Federal and Imperial security forces to gain access to the Steel Majesty. After freeing and arming the crewmembers that were being held hostage, they overpowered the NMLA troops and retook the megaship.”
“We have successfully prevented Theta Seven and his followers from rejoining their fellow terrorists. But the Far God cult’s vessel, the Sacrosanct, is still in the system under his control. Until the man responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths has been captured, our victory over the NMLA remains incomplete.”
The Epsilon Fornacis Empire Group stated that those who supported its campaign can now receive their rewards from Payne-Scott City starport.
The Imperial faction also agreed that independent pilots who fought for the Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid will be permitted to collect payment from the Steel Majesty, which has been transferred to their ownership.
