Thargoid hive ship incoming? Maybe they want to terraform the earth-like world? Is that one a natural or a terraformed one? If it's terraformed any chance we know what kind of world it was before?
Terraformed, so probably a HMC before.

Seems unlikely, though - the natural temperature ranges for ELWs and AWs don't overlap, so you'd never be able to stably terraform one to the other. As we pointed out when Sirius and the Alliance suggested doing it the other way in Coalsack.

Cornsar A2 might just about be convertible to an AW but I think it's probably slightly too close to the star too.

HMC? Isn't Meta-Alloy a type of metal? Just thinking since we've battered them so much, maybe they are desperate need of Meta-Alloy to help rebuild, and maybe this is just a quick extraction?

Possibly, or at least derived from metals ... but there are HMCs all over the place. It'd make no sense to try to harvest from Cornsar when there are literally millions of HMCs in unoccupied systems where they could [1] set up barnacles and have at least a fair chance of no human spotting them for years.

[1] Well, maybe. There's some suggestive evidence that meta-alloy production via barnacles requires a nebula in some way. But Cornsar isn't in one of those, either.

They're selling it as a continuation of the Azimuth story, so .... probably some story stuff. Maybe we'll get to find the base that the tweet pic was taken at. Looks like it might be a fun weekend :)
They'll (i.e. FD) have to be careful to vary things though. Just as CGs are a bit routine (and foreshadowed by either building or moving megaships) FD can only do the abandoned base logs so many times before that gets cliche.

A ground based Gnosis though would be excellent. Be like the first failed attack on Klendathu :D

They already mostly did that when Palin left the Pleiades, I thought you wanted something new :)
Only in my head it would be lots of on foot explorers poking at old terminals only to look up and have tens of hydras appearing. They all run off screaming, making for a lovely Thursday video.

When the Gnosis happened there were a few of these with very traumatised players logging in to be greeted with hell :D It was fantastic lore in the making.

Unfortunately they have to work with the current game mechanics. So, FD can only do the abandoned base logs, full stop.

I still enjoy them a lot though, every single time. (Doesn't mean I'm not hoping for new content in the future as well.)

I know they are constrained, but they need to (and probably have) sat down and looked at various combinations to deliver these things so one does not become a trope. CGs have slipped into predictable patterns and I hope the story here does not do the same. If they (FD) are to deliver a meaningful and interesting story they have to realise that the text is just part of that, it needs framing with 'physical' storytelling too (i.e. where its written and how you get there).

Delta Pavonis Hosts Political Conference

Delegations from the Federation and the dictator Yuri Grom are meeting to determine the Delta Pavonis system’s future.
Both are on a diplomatic mission to convince its controlling faction to either swear allegiance to Yuri Grom or become a Federal member state. Delta Pavonis was one of the original signatories of the Federal Accord in 2242, but has recently been governed by an independent autocracy.
Yuri Grom himself is present, having arrived on the megaship Indomitable. Grom was once a respected admiral in the Federal Navy, before defecting with huge numbers of ships and followers. They established the independent EG Union, which he presides over as a military dictatorship.
The rival delegation is led by Ambassador Delphine Dumont of the Federal Diplomatic Corps. They were transported on the Freedom’s Foundation megaship courtesy of Delta Pavonis Galactic Interstellar, which formerly controlled the system. The ambassador invited newsfeeds to witness her initial introduction to Yuri Grom, who seemed slightly taken aback by her warm greeting.
Grand Duke Simion Petrescu, ruler of the Autocracy of Delta Pavonis, told attending journalists:
“The conference will take place in Kessler City on Reagan’s Legacy, where our distinguished guests will enjoy our famous hospitality. I look forward to learning more about their respective proposals.”
This is the first time that the Federation has diplomatically engaged with Yuri Grom. Political observers noted that this tactful approach may be due to several Federal factions recently declaring independence.
