CG predictions...

Hourly contributions up on all the Salvation CGs after the tweak - Inara now thinks Delphi will complete and the others will be close (which probably means all will complete). In some ways a shame as I was looking forward to seeing if ppl would work together if they all looked like failing, but in-game this will be a better outcome. Well, unless you like the AX gameplay I guess 🤔

Ram Tah looking like it will hit Tier 1 easily - the question then is whether ppl will switch to the Salvation CGs / stop doing the CGs / continue for Ram Tah ... I predict they will continue, because .... people :)

I'm kinda wondering now... in another world did Aden Tanner secure the information, and now Aegis are building the superweapons, meanwhile Salvation is telling us to steal their classified information in order to analyse it because "they suspect Aegis will get it wrong"...
I agree that Aegis would be using the weapon here if Tanner had won. That previous article about the superpowers debating about funding Salvation seemed to come a little out of nowhere. It might make more sense if it was the counterpart to a similar article about the superpowers restoring funding to Aegis so that they could deploy the weapon.

I dunno if Salvation would be doing the extra CG like that though. Maybe we'd still have Tesreau acting independently with Ram Tah to try and investigate if Aegis were making a mistake in using it, presumably without understanding it and just slotting the pieces together.

I get the feeling that, if ram tah's cg doesn't succeed, these superweapons may have substantial collateral.

Conversely, i think an Aegis implementation would be ineffective without Salvation intervening. But we'll never know that one now...

I'm gonna switch to the Maia one after Salvation is safely tier 1, and after that we'll see.
Mostly because I want those plasma chargers but also because it's the one trailing behind (with the Merope one).

Or that Ram Tah finds out a really horrific secret like the ancient technology uses puppies as fuel or something.

Salvation:

"ah, more anti Thargoid fuel"

Third hyperdiction today. Could it be the Thargoids are a bit more agitated than usual? Good thing when you boost away they don't scan you. No idea how they would react to the AX components in my cargo hold. Also, have systems with incursions always been under Thargoid rule?

So if Tanner had won and got the information on Salvation it would have immediately been classified by Aegis.

A thargoid sensor found in Ryker's Hope region, close to DSSA #143. Investigations are ongoing.
Was it a permanent POI, or did it vanish since? Since Odyssey, temporary surface signals containing a Thargoid Sensor have been reported at various places seemingly all over the galaxy, but they are quite rare.

Yes, that was, Odyssey + ammonia based life body combo POI, with the usual "Kilroy thargoids was here" message through the sensor placement.

I think Tanner, alarmed by what he finds goes public because something of that magnitude was worth risking his career, his life and possibly the lives of the galaxy.
Nah, far too sensitive to allow anyone else to know about it.
Besides it would have made excellent leverage with the powers that be.

Regardless he probably would have had to reveal what he found there as publicly as possible, even if it's not all that interesting - because if he hadn't it would just have 'confirmed' to everyone else that he'd attacked an innocent party.

I think the only scenario in which he doesn't do that is one where
- he finds out that the superpowers were keeping something crucial from him, which Salvation also managed to find out
- it can't reasonably be revealed publicly at this stage
- he therefore apologises and the Musashi shows up at this CG for Salvation ... but with Tanner still in command.
