CG predictions...

Interesting case for the "people just do the leading CG" this week - while that is true for the 3 main CGs the 'hidden' one has put on another 200k since it hit Tier 1 (it only needed 250k to hit the tier and is now nearly 450k). This makes no sense:
  • it isn't chasing the closest to completion CG (It's the only CG this week that won't finish IMHO)
  • no more credits from the CG (it must be pretty clear it won't hit T2 to most people)
  • it seems unlikely people are chasing the (unengineered) AX Missiles (well, ok maybe a few, but top 75% is 2 loads, and participant numbers remain low).

Possible reasons they are continuing:
  • purely for the RP of "we don't trust Salvation and we won't support him even if he can turn back the Thargoids in the Pleiades"
  • people who just want the Credits from the deliveries? 160 Ly < 350 Ly (though in an AspX it didn't seem that much extra effort)

(This wouldn't have been my prediction - I thought people would do Ram Tah, then complete the Salvation ones (now we have the option to complete all 4 with the increased supply), and then maybe boost Ram Tah once they are all done. This seems much more like some people have an RP position against Salvation and they're trying to make a point. Will be interesting to see if this is reflected in future Galnets :) )

I mean, there's also PEBCAK?

I personally wait for a thread soon of "Why aren't there more tiers in the Ram Tah CG?"

yeah, I read the forums too :) But in this case they found a CG that is pretty well hidden has little personal reward and are mashing away at it. Have you looked at the tiers on that CG? No way are they ever going to be in a position to request an extra tier :)

Edit: Not in-game right now, but I marked about where the progress is :D

Oh i more meant dividing up the tiers within the current limits.

I think Meene is closer than running all the way out to the Plieades which may be more attractive for non FC owners but once Maia and Merope finish I think there'll be Surge of leftovers.

I ilke the outcome. It'll create maximum havoc. Wipeouts of the Thargoids in 3 systems, at the same time for the first time ever an insight into what Salvation is actually doing. Or maybe it'll all backfire. Anyway, credits are a good motivator on these CGs too. I've dropped exactly one 752t Cutter load into each CG, each of those was 61-62 million in profit.

Theta Seven killed - GalNet
"The future will remember us."

The Death of Theta Seven

The NMLA’s de facto leader and his closest followers have sacrificed themselves by destroying the Far God cult’s megaship Sacrosanct.
The hijacked vessel had been taken to the Mudhrid system by the remaining members of Theta Group, aiming to reunite with the NMLA. After this failed, ACT forces surrounded the Sacrosanct in the hope of rescuing the several thousand cultists being kept as hostages.
Theta Seven broadcast a short video message, where he uttered a single phrase:
“The future will remember us.”
He was then seen to manually detonate a series of bombs, which ruptured the Sacrosanct’s hull and split the vessel in two. It is believed that the weapons also distributed Thargoid caustic enzymes throughout the megaship, thereby killing its entire population.
ACT has released a statement from co-leader Captain Saskia Landau:
“Tragically we were unable to save the lives of the Far God worshippers, despite several attempts to negotiate their safe conduct off the ship. Captain Castile’s commando unit could not gain entry to the Sacrosanct in time, and we had no success trying to hack into its onboard computers.”
“We can confirm that the most wanted terrorist in the galaxy is dead. But ACT’s task is not yet complete, since there is much we still don’t know about the NMLA. Our investigation will focus on learning more about their background, as well as targeting any surviving cells of activists.”

So... a way i would've liked to have seen this play out would have been:
  • ram tah counter cg and one Salvation cg finish; then
  • ram tah immediately reveals a "terrible truth" about the methods Salvation uses , and the resultant indecision about whether or not to continue with the remaining two.

... although bad outcomes have never stopped players fulfilling goals previously.

Anyways... theories on how Salvation does it, and what, if anything, Theta 7 and the Far God cultists (and the scriveners?) play into this final situation?

It wasn't set up that way though - Salvations finish earlier (so they can set up the results for this week's restart is my guess). Ram Tah finishes as usual - so will probably be a Galnet (next week?). Which makes sense as he needs to analyse the ... stuff.

I'm presuming the 'thing on restart' will be removing the Incursions in the 3 CG systems. Though I guess they might also remove the other ones in the Pleiades, or maybe all of them? ('All' makes less sense as they are so far from the Pleiades - and would allow then to run a similar CG for WH / Coalsack etc).

Bonus points if there is a mystery incursion in Meene, by complete co-incidence happening to close down Ram Tah's base ...

I think it's more likely to tie into the Alexandria or the stuff revealed at the end of Hyford's Cache than those other plotlines somehow. Not sure if Salvation is "evil", but jacking the Alexandria and using what's on it to bait thargoids to Cornsar or doing a fake thargoid attack there both seem possible.

In the Cornsar incident, when Salvation's time limit for handing in the basic medicines ended, the superweapon fired inmediately; it was on Monday or Tuesday.
Maybe this can apply in this case as well.

If theres is a CG Thursday the Community image was not important enough to have CG listed on it, even with only 1 event on thusday, if the CG is taking place...
