Challenge to land on the world of death

Landed, then 10 minutes later that damned star tried to kill me!

LOL.

Went back to Jaques.
Succeded in kiling you? Or you already flew back to Jaques?
You're aware that the ship is not safe there once you hit the jet?
Your SRV is immune so you just have to disembark and dismiss your ship before the planet runs into the jet.
You can recall your ship when you hear the sound of the jet stop.

Made it! The landing sure was interesting.. It was like I had to push really hard to catch up to the planet as it orbited. But once I got into orbital flight it was fairly straight-forward.

I think I landed while the planet was on its way up toward apoapsis, so it'll be a while before I end up close to the white dwarf.

No, succeeded in frightening the bejeesus out of me "Catastrophic systems failure" !!111110101!!! OMG etc. :D

So I hot footed it outta there. But I might go back because I didn't know the SRV was immune from that - DOH!

EDIT - I have to say I think system warnings are bit OTT. Because once I was safely in orbit there was hardly any damage (hull or system) so despite the impending "catastrophe" and all the snapping and crackling sounds it wasn't really too bad.

Here 's the orbit of the little planet. The orbit window is clearly visible on the second photo, seems pretty easy IF timed correctly.. i 'll know soon i guess :)

Found out you have to approach from the outside, far away side and its doable. Definitely a place worth visiting if close to Colonia. When close, the little moon moves really fast, and the star approaches and disappears in about half a minute! Many thanks to the OP for sharing this location

Landed yesterday around midnight GMT

Had to wait an hour so that planet is outside of jet and is outside of exclusion zone :D

Was inpatient couple of times and I wanted to land on it ASAP, but couple of minutes in uncontrolled super cruise gave me a lesson, luckily I wasn't destroyed but it wasn't nice either.

Finally landed and drove for 30 minutes as the WD appeared bigger and bigger. On top of the cake, nearby M start appeared on horizon.

Still there and will stay there some more. We should really get touristic beacon here :D

Plus, you know, as anyone who has seen the film 'Event Horizon' will know, black holes are actually gateways to a parallel universe that is far, far worse than Hell, which is after all only a word. So if we could find an equivalent world around a black hole, then it would quite literally be a 'Hell World'! ;)

Didn't had time to take proper image as it appeared on the horizon fast and went off in few minutes, so sorry about that.

But I found out something I didn't know yet and that is that WD also have lensing effect :)

Definitely the best planet I landed so far.

@Arthur: Nice Image! I guess if this planet wasn't around and landable I would never get so close to WD to find out.

Well after finally plucking up the courage - managed to do it tonight. Approach was okay as planet was outside the jets at the time. Gave it about 20 minutes or so and recalled my ship. Landed okay but as soon as I was spacebourne - wow!

Recorded a couple of vids hsowing approach and scaryness (to follow due to painful Youtube uploading). Managed to get back to Colonia okay though (think the speed saved me - god I love this Orca!) :D

EDIT: Sorry, not sure how to shorten videos yet. 1st one shows initial approach and landing. Second me try to desperately get out of the jets in Supercruise!
