cheftian canopy

I just fought 4 straight Deadly 'Conda's. My hull was down to 35%, two of my Pulse's were malfunctioning, but my Canopy was intact. Does that mean anything? I use Bi-Weave shields and two a Boosters. The last of the 'Conda's even got a head on ram in. Still Canopy at 100%. That's way more than a sneeze, even if it's just lowly old PvE.

100%? Sounds pretty unusual. Better info might be Life Support Class/Engineering and how many HRPS/MRPS.

I have had it last in PvE vast majority of the time, often just a crack, though that happens sooner than most ships (in line with DBS). It is cracking a lot in PvP, but players are targeting life support, unlike NPC's.

I have a 5D Life Support, with 2x 4D MRP's, 1x 4D g3 H/D HRP. 1x g3 H/D HRP. There is a g3 Reinforced C6 Bi-Weave shield, with 2x g1 Res. Aug OA Boosters, fitted as well. I use 1B Reinforced Alloy Hull with g3 H/D Armor mod.

I thought I might be narrowing down the issues, a short time ago in this thread, to how MRP's are used. The OP uses one big MRP (D5), I use two mediums (D4). I asked about him testing that out, he had no interest. What is your compliment of MRPs?

I use two 4Ds as well. Last I checked using multiple ones was supposed to increase the percentage change that the MRP would absorb the damage (e.g. 2 60% MRPs would grant 80% chance). My build. The SRV bay can be swapped out for either another MRP or an AFMU. Only had it equipped for surface runs (I wanted to fly the Chieftain instead of my usual surface ships - Cobra, Python, Clipper, etc.).

people are not targeting life support to my knowlege.
they are targeting power distributor.
the reason is twofold, firstly its the weakest part of a hull-tank ship, and secondly it is directly behind the canopy, so rail-guns can in essence target the canopy with pinpoint accuracy.
