Chieftan Only For Alliance CMDRs

Well obviously all the plebs feel entitled and will make some noise; but at this point I think we need to discuss how to keep out the riff raff.

Obviously The Alliance is open to anyone and we don't have ranks and very few permit systems so how should we do this?

Personally I think a historical pledge time to Fat Eddie of maybe uh twenty weeks might be a sufficient barrier to entry. But then there's more to The Alliance than pledging.

For instance sculling a pint of Guinness on comms from Dublin citadel in Gateway. Or donating a bottle of Jamesons to Schlack, Dav and Vectron.

Maybe dropping off a care package for that pilot that Turner Research Group has locked up out in Mahon Research Base. I heard he's on a hunger strike.

Anyway if you've got any practical ways to keep all the Aisling pledges from getting their hands on our lovely Chieftan - I'm all ears.

Maybe something like needing a hundred points on the old "How Alliance are you?" scale.
You know - a point for each week pledged.
A point for each Alliance minor faction you're allied with.
A handful of points for the Alioth permit.
A handful for G5 access with Todd The Blaster.
Maybe having to contribute at a CG.

Something.

I'm going to be very disappointed if it comes in any colour except green.

All good ideas, but I think the easiest would be to be at least friendly with the alliance to be able to buy it.
But yeah, something.

Because we have enough Rank Restricted ships in the game?

How about we take away any and all of your ships that have origins in the Federation and the Empire?

Same idea as yours, just putting the shoe on the other foot. ;)

Ahhh! You don't like that idea eh?

Well then... So much for yours. :)

Irrelevant...

In order to have gained access to Empire and Federation related ships, a CMDR accomplished missions for the Empire or the Federation, therefore, have helped the Empire and the Federation.
When in this situation, a CMDR who has done nothing for the Alliance will have access to an Alliance ship. It has nothing to do with putting the shoe on the other foot imho.

Personally, I think a permit to Alioth should be the prerequisite to get access to the Chieftain :) Just so that both feet have the same shoes.

Who made the poster?
Nice.

Why restrict access? The Python, which is arguably one of the best ships in the game, is available to all. All those hurdles (empire and federation) are just stupid. The price tag alone is a prerequisite.

Those "hurdles" are not stupid. It's a reward system... Work enaugh for the Federation, and you get federal goodies, work enaugh for the Empire and you get Imperial goodies... the question at hand here is why don't you have to work even just a bit for the Alliance to get Alliance's goodies ? see ? It's just a legitimate question about consistency :)

I'll just take more grind and to be honest I don't even want the Chieftain. I think maybe it's stockholm syndrome now but honestly I'm about to take on the empire grind when I don't want any of their ugly ships. Not really sure why I do it to myself. +rep for out of the box thinking though.

The LORD has spoken has he?

Well then...No point in even attempting to debate God. lol!

Whatever. Moving on to more important topics.

I explained my point, as to why it is irrelevant. Odd how you don't quote the point I made but just the "trigger" that caused your apparently serious butthurtin'

Yes! Alliance players have a right to suffer too! Don't leave all the suffering and grinding to the imperial and federal scum! ;)

I always knew that Alliance aligned players are very special, but wanting a grind lock wall is really very special.

Grind ? Sorry, there is no Grind in my ELite Dangerous experience, not anymore, not since I realized grinding was a state of mind ;) I just enjoy the game, I do what I like when I feel like so, and I don't rush anything... I'll get there when I'll get there. I leave grinding to 1) People who like it, afterall, it's a style of gameplay on its own 2) Masochists

:D Have fun ! (or not) hehe

Do it. Only the finest in Faulcon Delacy and Lakon hardware for this Alliance commander. I wouldn't be caught dead in a Federal shoebox.
