If anything is not procedurally generated, then it is hand crafted. Obviously.
Right, and where did anyone bring up the subject of PG?

I'd prefer 200 hand crafted systems than 400 billion procedurally generated content which you'll never find anyone or anything particularly interesting
Have to agree here.
I haven't been playing long, but I've visited probably 50-100+ systems. They're all pretty much the same. Jump in, travel to station, jump out. Jump in, visit nav beacon or unidentified signal source, jump out, etc.
400 billion of the same location to visit over and over isn't exactly a good thing. It sounded awesome when I heard it, but, meh.
ED is still fun though, not saying I hate it or anything. But I will be playing SC as well, because it looks awesome too.
It will be interesting to see if any SC players decide to check out ED
So I was watching the latest 10 For The Chairman when a guy asked if SC was gonna stay commited to their offline mode after ED cancelled theirs. So basically CIG is using the fact that FD cancelled offline mode to promote SC, which is kinda low in my opinion.
In another part of the episode CR talked about recoil in zero-G and stated that regular ballistic weapons wouldn't be able to push you backwards in zero-G because the bullet's mass is too low, but a weapon like a bazooka would potentially push you backwards... This makes no sense since a bazooka has no recoil, which you know if you know even the first thing about weapons. Also, I've fired a shotgun myself, and I have a hard time believing that it wouldn't be able to push you backwards in zero-G, even if it's just a little.

Someone should explain to Chris the difference between mass and momentum. I think he's getting them confused.
Yep, it's bland! <--- Link to more blandness!
Took them 7-8 hours of travel to get those screenshots (read down the page)
That's a lot of time for just stars in different positions and different planet skins .. In my opinion
Energy required to accelerate a small object is significantly less than an object with a higher mass. Yes velocity comes into it but it's energy require to move an object of that mass at that speed matters a lot.
E.G Why hollywood shots knocking people back are fake.
The amount of energy in a projectile isn't enough to knock a human over, yes, kick back, and if you're off balance, you might fall over, but you won't go flying back. The amount of energy required to accelerate a human to the velocity of a bullet is exponentionally higher.
So you could use the amount of energy in a focus area to project a bullet at high speed, but you spread that energy out to push over a human and it's not any stronger than light wind.
I don´t see a problem with this. If Christ Roberts got asked the question regarding Offline Mode multiple times, I don´t see a reason why he shouldn´t put an answer in his "10 for the Chairman".
Also don´t forget that Chris Roberts also did promotional work for Elite: Dangerous in the past, by mentioning in interviews, that gamers should back Elite: Dangerous.
The recoil of a cannon should surely affect you ... but by how much would surely depend on the mass (and thereby inertia) of the spaceship that fires the projectile

I´m a backer of both games ...
and I wouldn´t be surprised if that would be true of a large percentage of other E: D backers as well.
(Just like many people in their past surely played both ... Elite/Frontier as well as Privateer (which plays in Chris Roberts Wing Commander Universe))

I think the answer off Mr Roberts was SC specific and there the firearmes would negate the recoil through some kind of tech in the firearm itself. Its a scienceFICTION game. If they decide you have unlimmited Ammo, they can explain it with startrek like replicators. So the discussion here seems a bit meaningless.
