Classic ship request to dev

It would be really nice to see a few old classics in game, just like if you drive around you occasionally see an old classic car. It would bring some life to the galaxy because what happened to all the old ships? Did they all get crushed and turned into new ships? Surely some oddities would survive?
Exactly why can’t they be in game and cheap and available for new and old players

And also any time I take my raider viper mk3 out it’s like driving a classic car except in space with kicka*** lasers

Perhaps they could sell proper ship kits, like you get on the roads where you take the chassis of some rubbish cheap car and put a porsche-shaped fibreglass shell on it.

"Yeah, it looks like a Mimbari battle cruiser, but it's a sidewinder inside. It's got a bit more armour but the shields are over-stretched and it drives like a tank."
Ur talking about a rat rod that’s awsome🤠

In the lore there is no mk2 Cobra... Never made it off the design board. The mk1 did exist, but it had been retired by 3125, so you'd gave to go to an air and space museum to see one in 330x.

Jameston Cobra was an early mk3 model BTW.

Cheers,

Drew.
Maybe have an egineer who is an antique ship dealer and hull, thruster, and fsd specialists

Jeez imagine...

A treasure hunt event for a classic ship design. Using your srv and ship to find settlements and stations that contain a segment of a ships blueprint.

You find all the blueprints, build the ship with credits and some materials...

I'd actually invest the time to fly about aimlessly looking for the blueprint segments.

Personally I just hope if they do release new ships alongside the fleet carriers and fleet carrier support ships they aren't copy paste like the Chieftain/Crusader/Challenger line

I wouldn't call them copy/paste. Isn't that how it works in real life? take airplanes. In WWII, a whole slew of fighters was built on the frame of the BF-109, and the same was true of the FW-190, with the Dora (long-nosed version) and the TA-152 being further-going modifications.

Strictly speaking, if you have a solid frame, why not use that and tweak it? There is no need to reinvent the wheel.

(Nonethless, I would like to have a ship with two huge and four small hardpoints (2 huge, fixed beams and 4 small railguns . . . YEAH!!)).

I'd be happy with Medium sized Gutamaya and Saud Kruger builds.
Gutamaya has medium ship, but when engineers were designing it they had some massive party with tons of alcohol, got drunk and confused, that's why it can't land on the medium landing pad. I'm talking about Clipper. LOL
