The game looks really good so far, I am super excited for it! So much so that I have been brainstorming ideas for animal habitats, and I have no doubt you all have been too. I do get a little worried regarding how the animal AI pathfinding works with intractable objects.
Climbable trees are really cool but I wonder how the climbing works if I were to bury a tree and only have the top of it visible, sorta like a bush. Would the animal clip through the ground and climb from the base of the tree or is there some kind of flag the AI sees that says "Hey the ground is here, start the animation at this level".
Along with burying the trees, what if we stack them? If I make some ridiculous tree tower, can the animals climb to the tippy top, or does the game say "This is where the tree ends, finish animation." and it only works with the base tree.
Regardless, the technology implemented into the AI is very impressive as is, I enjoy taking games to the limit is all!
