Cobra Mk V and more...

The MkV is just there to stop people from whining about not having the MkIV.

Still, it's very nice and I'll take one to complete my full collection of Cobra's

fdev, just add an exclusive cockpit cat plushie booblehead to the mkiv cockpit and called it mkv to put that argument to bed, and then make the new one mkvi.

But really looking forward to that new cockpit. Would be perfect for new atmospheres. Fdev. Fdev? Atmospheres. You know you want to. Fdev?

I agree about the cockpit. Very disappointed about the other SCO ships having the same cockpits. All but with super micro minor changes. Ppffttt

I am expecting complaints about how bobbleheads really ruin the visibility in the CmkV as soon as it gets into our hands.

If these panels are transparent, this C5 would be an absolute dream to fly.

I do believe the Burr pit had a report on this and yes those are transparent. 👍

I'd prefer less customisation. Let me choose what asset to put on or in orbit around which body, but I don't want to be 'designing' assets. There's plenty of other games that let me micro-design in that manner, I don't fancy getting bogged down in that level of detail in Elite.
I'm pretty much of the same mind. Should we, either initially or later, get that level of customisation/building options then that's great for those that want it - I'm more than happy with the possibility of choosing what type of station and it's (or their) location(s) according to what the system may have to offer or even just finding a glorious location.

You know … the C5 may limit how long the Mandalay survives as my “daily driver” or “mission runner” but I’m still gonna purchase both … FDev re-investing in Elite has re-ignited my own interest in the game and I feel like lobbing them a few quid to reward them - and hopefully ensure further development continues in 2025 and beyond - is worthwhile at this point.
I'm with you, "right-on Commander" 07

Roll on the 16th December when Santa will hopefully be delivering one present early (that isn't socks)!

I'm curious.
This C5.
What niche is it filling?
Well i speculate.

FIREPOWER
yes it's a small medium. But considering the firepower of its smaller siblings it's gotta have bigger hardpoints?
I anticipate 3 size 2s and 1 size 4 and perhaps a size 3.
That's more than the legendary Lance!
Perhaps it's going to be a contender for pew pew meta. Far more dextrous than the python ll which as we all know has fab firepower.

So what hardpoints, it's yaw, it's flatline speed + boost, it's distro usage etc.. oh l do hope its up there.

Cobra Mk V? Yes! As a medium? IDK. We've already got a lot of good multirole medium ships, such as the Asp Explorer, Krait II, and Python. Do we really need another? I'd personally rather see this as a Small ship, as we do need more love in the small ship area.

Multirole ships are the most used because they fit the most play styles, and besides, regardless of how many multirole ships there already are, there needs to be a shiny new one that gets people excited and is SCO optimized.
