Cobra Mk V and more...

I really sad right now. They put an exploration cockpit on the MK V and then gimp it with size 4 FSD, limiting it's jump to low to mid 60s at best. My explorer will stay the Krait Phantom after all, because the Mandalay has a fighting ship cockpit.

I fear it will be even hard to get 55 LY, even with Class 5 GFB - reasonably outfitted.

That kit was damned ugly.
Got to agree with you there!
IMO big bulky ship kits look dreadful...those wings/flaps on the front are just waaaaaaay to big. I think the kraits have something similar, which I am also not a fan of.
Ship kits should be smallish and should compliment the current ship.
Some ship kits are just amazing and are a great addition to the ships role and appearance...and some are completely the opposite. Love the survey, extraction and the new quest kits...not a fan of big flappy flaps that dominate a ships aesthetics.

1hr 3min 16sec is roughly where the Mk V ship kit is showcased.

Its the front canard wings that set me off.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. I can already see that the Cobra Mk5 will have the same issue as the Mk4. Both are heavier than the Mk3, yet they have size 4 thrusters. Because of this, the ship will be sluggish and slow. My fully engineered Cobra Mk4 flies at about 270 m/s without boost and ~430 m/s with boost, which is far from sufficient for a small combat ship. It can easily be outrun by the Type-8 and the Python Mk2 (the latter achieves truly incredible speeds).

It’s clear that the Mk4 and Mk5 thrusters need to be upgraded to size 5 right away; otherwise, the ship will end up being underwhelming.

Here`s my topic about Mk4

I will be buying the stellar edition, but I will probably just leave at least some of the kit parts off when outfitting, but I really like the standard look anyway. I do the same with the Python Mk2. The more I think about it, the more I think this will become one of my most used ships. It seems like it will be ideal as a fast (fingers crossed) light salvage ship for PP and it will be great for Odyssey stuff too.

I think some hype may have evaporated when they corrected the size from M to S..

Edit: someone post the internals please?

After info that this is S pad I want to buy it now ;D

Did they say something about mass?
