Code action against CoR

Then maybe FDEV shouldn't log it in the clear? Or have the contacts tab that does the same thing? Oh and you can't do anything with an IP address to make it personally identifiable. Some people are just too stupid to be on the Internet.

Open a command prompt and type "netstat -an". Here are the IP addresses of every player in the instance. Disable logging would only hamper legitimate uses like debugging.

Not disable the logging, but it could very easily be obfuscated or even delayed to make any detection tool useless.

You can't obfuscate the ip in the system. The system needs it to work, and you can easily read it from there. That's the point - bad guys already have all the information, you only create problems to good guys.

Not obfuscate in system. Obfuscate in logs only. Like most websites do with account info, or with passwords.

It's just a bit easier for people to use the logs. If the logs are encrypted, people just install something like WireShark and voila, same result.

You're right, it's no different. My firewall logs all incoming connections anways. Yeay for multiple machines.

We need to get you started on the kellogs cornflake diet! They were created to stop folks from uhm, blockading themselves. Because this was the olden days and morality comes from your food apparently [haha].

had to rep for your knowledge of random useless facts..

PS i ate cornflakes for most of my childhood and can categorically state........ his cornflakes don’t work :D

Yeah, I blockade myself on a fairly regular basis. But that could be because I eat Fruit'n'Fiber, not cornflakes!

Code?...
Those Mug-Haters are still around?.. I thought they became obsolete around the time of the rise of the SDC...

Actually that reminds me, does this Code have any relation to the EVE group of hisec miner gankers of the same name? Anyone heard them going on about "the light of James 315?"

Those guys are neat to deal with. Good old piracy plus extortion (pay us millions$$$ and we'll leave you alone) with no qualms about sacrificing their ships to the security response. I've made pretty decent money salvaging their remains when they turn up in system :)
